    YouTube - 900volt charging

Dont forget this may just be HV spark going straight into the cap because of the BIG diode and the connection on the negative side of the secordary coil.

I think some of this is HV from the negative of the coil too.
    YouTube - 900volt charging
the kick back lights the bulb and the hv goes to the cap (I think)

Ben thats fuuniest thing i seen in a long time Sir.
Yes I had tears of Joy

    Darling bodkins

when you run the first setup for around an hour, you're aligning the molecules (temporarily) of the capacitor just like when you make an electret. This is due to the back emf from the ignition coil being mostly voltage and aetheric whorls caused by streaming past electrons, streaming into the cap and sitting in the gaps between the capacitor molecules, like tipping a bunch of 1cm cubes (imagine they're only the north pole of a magnet) into a truck load of tennis balls, and shaking the truck. The tennis balls will re arrange. Take out all the magnets (aether whorls) and the next time you pour in more cubes, more will slip into the gaps between the tennis balls - less will pile up and fall over the edge of the truck.

However, give the tennis balls a good knock when there's no cubes, or just throw the odd cube at the tennis balls, etc, the balls will re settle into a less accommodating structure, so you will not be able to store as much charge again :-)

Do A Video of those dancing feet

not self charging but getting it to charge the cap up really high i need to run the first setup for a hour or two i dont now why!!

Prediction: since I think bodkins is using his microwave (resonance) capacitor, the effect (like self charging) will not continue ad finitum, and will have to repeat first step in a few days if cap not used. But then again, I got married once, ten years ago, and it lasted a month; evidence that I've been wrong before :-)

    Really illustrative set-up there.
So as i understand your video, one-wire charging is absolutely dependant on the kick-back from the CFLs into the coil then?
Aside from that, i also wondered if you split the high voltage signal from the coil HV out into two lines, if the signal gets weaker in each line like in audio/RF signals?
Yes its all kick-back, I have another video for you i can charge the cap up to 900volts in seconds. You need to let the first setup run for a hour or two before you can get the next setup to work. Inquorate will tell you why that happens im sure.

dont now if the signal rf gets weaker sorry.

Indeed, snacks are the most important part, that's what the peanuts and cookies are on the counter

    Hi All,

Girlfriend went back to Florida so I have time to play again.

Built a couple things last couple of days.

1 was the cup capacitor Lidmotor turned me on to. Wanted to see how well it worked. That was 2 dollars from the dollar shop~

The other was I wound up a psuedo tesla coil, aka air core transformer. I have no idea if this thing is in resonance but I'm getting some decent sparks coming off it. About 2.5 cm or so.

Its 5.5 turns on the primary, roughly 325 turns on secondary. Its being powered by a SLA 12v battery and one of Lidmotors earlier 555/3055 combos. The coil I'm using is out of a 92 toyota celica. Seems to put out some stronger spark than the old canister type coil I have.

Spark gap is just a couple of stainless steel round nobs I got from the home depot for a few bucks each.

had some weird expierences yesterday. With the circuit hooked up and running, no cup cap connected, there was high voltage everywhere except the secondary winding on the tesla. Once I hooked up the cup cap, the only high voltage over the circuit was confined to the secondary.

I just used a neon held in myhand not connected to anything to see where the HV AC field was.

Anyways some pics. Snowing today so won't have much time to play since I have to work~

Ignore the mess, just your typical kitchen laboratory.

That is great !!!. Great work, looking forward for the self sustaining module .

Small update for joule thief circuit:
YouTube - BEMF of flat spiral vs tubular coil

Tesla flat spiral coil generate more BEMF and make the transistor cooler than normal air core tubular coil.

    Conclusion from this experiment:
    - Tesla spiral coil is effective for getting BEMF.
    - Since tesla spiral coil said to have less magnetic capability, the key for more BEMF is utilizing coil that don't generate magnetism.
    - Bigger coil should light up many LED.

Ever try to light up the LED with BEMF produced by your table candle? I think it would be enough to light up some LED.
I added a small lead acid battery and a 2 watt solar panel to my latest "Table Candle". I believe that I now have a solar powered self-sustaining light system. I even noticed that the light puts out enough lumens to generate some feed back energy from the solar panel. Something that we talked about here on this thread a long time ago.
Here is the video of it:
