I have been working on the sensors again and have the ACS709 working all by its self with no problems. Has anyone a complete wiring diagram for both the ACS709 and ADS1115 together and possibly a basic code for this pair as well. The ACS709 works well alone but this configuration is not what we have decided to do. Can someone help as I am having problems reading a lot of text just now because I have poison ivy in my right eye and its swollen shut. Cant read well at all that way.

Apparently Linux doesn't support the sstream library. Try to delete that line and see if this will compile. I think that I had originally included this library to get additional control over the strings that I had wanted to send from the input devices to the monitor on the desktop. It is unnecessary in the current version and I will see if there is an alternative for Linux users.

I remember that getting that many rotors was a bit hard to align until I put Popsicle sticks in all the slots and rubber bands to hold them tight. Each stick is a bit loose but when all slots are filled, everything lines up easy.

If I am not mistaken, you must be running the ardino version for linux and also choose 32 or 64 bit version of that to be compatible with your computer. Is all correct in this department?

I have version 1:1.0.5 .
I have a Linux operating system and it is straight from the repositories. Maybe that is the difference.

Yeah I noticed that in the picture also. The rotors aren't epoxied together at this point, just slipped on the shaft. Good catch though. I will get them properly aligned before wiring.

I am using version 1.0.4 of the Arduino Software and it verifies perfectly. Perhaps you are using an older version? Cannot imagine that a newer version would not have the string stream library included. Check the version of Arduino software. I am using windows 7 and my installation is installed at
C:\\ProgramFiles\Arduino. Hope that helps. Try updating to a newer version if necessary.

The string library portion is not set up correctly. What version of Arduino are you using. Possible reload Arduino to correct this and use most current version.

Yes that looks good. The last picture, x4, will be an excellent generator. Before you go any farther, the last set of rotor plates on the right are offset a bit. That must be straightened as wire cutting will result if you can fit them in in the first place. That restriction will limit wire count when winding. Cant wait to see it running as that is exactly the motor and configuration I call my second best as the Imperial is number 1. The pcb boards take 4 weeks at best and they never send any paperwork until shipped. They are also noncommittal when calling or emailing for information.

Thanks for the info. I had already ordered the voltage regulators and then had doubts. Just wanted to double check before everything got wired into the pcbs. Anyway ordered the pcbs on 8-17 and the parts to populate on 8-31. Have not received the pcbs or even confirmation that they have shipped. Did get an order confirmation and debit to account for 6 pcbs. All of the parts to populate have shipped already. Very fast. Looking forward to putting these together and moving on to the Imperial after I order the sensors for keeping records of everything. Have to take it one step at a time and stay within shoestring budget.

I read the PDF last night until I fell asleep, but not from boredom
, thanks so much for the work you must have put in to that one. I appreciate everything you wrote, it was very helpful, in trying to understand this. I am glad I took some time to learn a little programming and arduino better, I actually could follow most of that.
Well, the electrical shop is still running for orders, so my bearings are still on their way. Just to get an idea of the help I get, in terms of pricing, I'm paying $20/bearing from these guys. Canadian bearing was cheapest online, 2 bearings
Shipped was going to be $110.
You see why I need these guys. Once we get these motors running correct, there are lot of plastics companies around here, that all use DC brushed motors, lots of work replacing motors, for these guys, plus they , will have a new shop for big time production, once we get there.
So now I wait for bearings, and start on machining my coupling, from imperial to drum. I also have another arduino, just came, plus ir digital sensors. So I can take a look at Garry's program, use one arduino to run meccalte, and one for sensors, etc.
UFO, lets wait to draw rotor, stators, until everything else fits and all maching is done. I'm starting to question whether we should be using coils in stator or rotor drum, and permanent magnets for other, or all coils, or modifying the existing stators, to allow interchangeable coils, or stator material. Maybe I should be setting this up for the ultimate test platform, where we can exchange coils, stator material, rotors.
I think stepping back for a week or two, get to know arduino a little more intimate, with Garry's new program, might be good. And I need to put 20 ohms on the monster drivers and try those again. And finish winding imperial. Lots of little loose ends to finish.

I have finished version 0.0.3 of the Radiant Motor Control Program. This will be the last version that can be used without a timing device as I will release version 0.0.4 later this week and it will implement code that will only work with a timing device installed on the motor. Please read the tutorial for version 0.0.3. If you are familiar with version 0.0.1 just read the section titled what is new in version 0.0.3. This will explain the changes in detail and what new actions are needed from you to use the program.

Thanks UFO, i have noticed already, the reverse flow is strong at low Htz, as i increase frequency on the coil i am pulsing the reverse flow seems to weaken, and the magnetic strength of the powdered iron core, weakens also.
i have tried different coils, with smaller wire size- more resistance, and am starting to get a practical picture now, of what is needed for maximum magnetic strength in our motor cores and windings.
i would say the balance will need to be between semi conductors, that can handle the backlash, and heat death of all our motor parts, to find max magnetic strength.
