    Cool. I was just thinking a Sonic Firestorm might be lethal.

    The Vexus PCB's I had made shipped today. Too bad UPS is taking a week to deliver them! They are due here Tuesday.

    Hi all,

    Finally got re-focused. Since the route I wanted to take with steam 'ingestion', which really should be steam 'injection', is out of practical range not only for me but most everyone else too, I have opted to just go for ultra-high humidity (as an amplification of the 'drip' system I have now) and not try and keep the steam super hot. In this way I can continue with something similar to what I really want to do and also keep testing the plugs and circuitry. I've been stalled long enough. Time to get movin' again.

    Hi everyone,

    It's been a while since I've posted, but I'm still with you guys and I can't stop thinking of this water spark plug effect.

    My interest for the subject camed 2 years ago, when I was involved in HHO.
    I've tried an experiment to see if I was able to create more HHO by using high-voltage from a MOT. Suddenly, after connecting a capacitor across the MOT output, I witnesses the exploding water.

    Since then, I sincerly believe that this kind of power is able to drive a mechanical device, but which one? Is the ICE is the right choice?

    Like we all know, after the explosion comes the implosion. If we could use both at a steady rpm, we would have an efficient device.
    So this leads me to this question: What's the speed of these events?

    I've read somewhere that hydrogen expand at the speed of 265 meter/sec, but which distance does it cover before it come back?

    Some clues still...

    Not really ... kinda' stalled. Trying to find time. I'm involved in developing a "green" product for architecture and construction. With the economy and all my attention is on work but I just purchased an air powered die grinder so I can get to more heat in one of the heater boxes. I'm trying to avoid making a full-blown exhaust heat exchanger to isolate the steam from any air. I'll need to do something like this to relocate the steam entry point to the 'head-end' of the intake manifold ... this will reduce heat loss in the steam. I got on this steam 'ingestion' kick because there are interesting aspects to it. It is taking more time to solidify the test setup than I anticipated ... mostly indecision.

    Luc and I were both wondering why in the heck the GEET researchers aren't applying Water Spark Plug, Plasma, etc to their efforts.

    Hi Bob,

    I drew the specific schematic of the exact inverter circuit I built and also included is a capture of the oscillator running at around 90 HZ at a 45 Watt load. If you can scope it, the oscillator should look similar to the picture.

    The scope trace isn't as "square" as I would like it. I could sharpen it up a little more by driving the 3055s' bases a little harder I assume.

    Hi Bob,

    Swap the base drive to the 2N3055's. If the hotter 2N3055 gets exchanged then your base drives are not symmetrical. If the hotter 2N3055 remains the same, and you are getting high temp. with the unit un-loaded, then one of the 2N3055 probably has too much collector to emitter leakage current (partial short).

    Just my 2 cents.

    Yes, I had one a little hotter than the other too. The spec for these reads 200 deg C ! That's allot. I have a fan on the 3055 heat sinks. Mine runs around 500 ma just sitting there. It draws about 6 amps at 4000 RPM. What transformer are you using? Everything is different for various transformers. The picture is of the one I'm using. I had to fiddle with the caps to get the frequency between 80 - 90 Hz. You can hit a 'bad' spot for the transistors withe the wrong transformer.
