I Remember Now

Hi Chet,

Very nice indeed. I remember now. My wife is about 10X smarter than me. If I was able to get her involved in this I could show some really quick results but so far she's not the least bit interested in it. She just about sent me packing today over this build. I have to show her some encouraging results very soon. She says to much money expended with no returns. I'm working on my flask trying to make it look more like that of Mr. IKEA.

As you know Our wives can get pretty frustrated with this and the financial as well as emotional burden it can place on our relationships!!

Anyhow thats Mrs.db [the only girl experimenter here ...so far]

If they find out it keeps them nice and toasty we'll probably have a wimmin problem around here!!

IKEA Thermos (Factory Made)

Hi Chet,

I can't take credit for the IKEA flasks in the last two pics I posted. They were from Mr. IKEA himself, somewhere in Eurasia. My flask turned out pretty good but I don't have a belt sander yet, and my hand sanding job isn't near as good as his. I'll show mine soon. I didn't want to take someone else's credit. Thanks!!

Speaker HUM is what we need,I just found A PA [public address] Amplifier
And Microphone in one of the storerooms here!

Now I'm looking for a speaker ...

One of My sons has A small amp he is supposed to get me But its at some friends house??

I want to learn how to do this Tune ,when I was younger I played around with Ham radio, Tuning is Critical to proper transmission [and receiving]!!

Gonna Be fun !! Sensitivity is also critical [the fine tune]!!
Meaning ,,Getting the Pin[Nail] to vibrate at lowest possible Volume is the Best Tune [most sensitive]!!
I am anxious to see what An E L F transmission to A tuned receiver set to resonate a huge flexible tube Underwater ....Can do?

Hey Chet.
I have been using this site Stereo System Test & Analysis Tones by Nino B. to figure out where my cans are ringing. I hook headphone jack of computer to a stereo with an aux. Input and play the tones that way. I think we talked about how digital 60 Hz and mains 60 Hz probably won't be the same, but I figure this is a good place to start, at least you can try different tones to see where you are starting out. For example......my last try tuning, the nail bounced a little at 70 & 80 Hz. A little more bounce at 72 &78 Hz. At sweet spot (75 Hz) nail bounces 1/4 to 1/2 inch away from can and I can hear nail dinging off of can. That's how I figure can my can is at 75 Hz.
Now if I unplug the computer from the stereo and leave the aux. Input option on, turn the volume up a little, there is a hum that comes from the speakers........just like a guitar amp sounds before you plug in the guitar..... I'm guessing this is the sound of my 60hz mains.....so far I haven't had any luck tuning.still trying as time allows........Im going about tuning the best I know how...if ya find a better way please let me know!!

grounding suggestion

Gents {and Mrs db]

I want you to understand something ,you can play with this very safely!!

Here is a technique for doing a good ground [extra ground].
I take a standard grounded plug I wire up only the ground [the other two poles are empty]
I plug this cord [25 ft ... or whatever] into another grounded outlet close to where I am working I CHECK THIS GROUND with a meter probe the hot and it lights .....I have a ground .... no light [or reading ] NO GOOD!!

Once I have finished my test run ,I unplug Professor Savics Device
Take the plugged in ground .... drop the end in the tank ...Take My meter [make sure its on and set properly] ... remove the ground lead from the water
clip one wire to my ground place the other meter lead in the water .
No reading at all ??
Set meter to DC
Still no reading??
Your water has no charge remaining.

Remove device............

You can of course leave your ground probe in the water at all times [connected to the neutral on the device or ground post in the water].

I er on the side of caution ,as this device is not supposed to do what it Do!!

Thank you for the encouraging words.

I am working on my Tuning now ,since the beginning Professor Savic has said use "YOUR" {my] computer sound to get the right frequency of the mains where you are going to use his Boiler.

How can I get feedback bounce from this computer audio ??
I feel pretty dopey asking this but I don;t play with sound !

I saw that Ahura posted a sound link but Mr.C says I must use the sound where I am ,It can vary from one location to the next.
I am going to Tune off the same outlet I run the device on!

Any ideas??

I will of course document my tuning procedure with photos !!

Go do a systems check on a recip aircraft at take off power chained to the ground... 10 ft prop screaming inches away.

And there is absolutely nothing special about it ,you do what you do!

This device is so passive in operation it will be boring ...
But S is right pay attention !! Same way you do when you step off the curb to cross the street!!

Polarity!!
In the US we use the neutral and ground to the same Buss [inside the box]
If you are not sure that Grandpa put the hot lead in its proper position on your outlet ,take your AC meter and probe between the ground and the other two blade holes ...when the meter does not react you have your neutral when the meter reads mains voltage you have your Hot,now you have your polarity
and you have also checked your ground connection [very important]

Stepping off the curb is much scarier than this ............

1) Polish your can to 60 Hz if in USA or 50 Hz if in Europe.

2) Measure the diameter of the cans after polishing and then make your ring with a gap of 2.52 mm for USA or 2.1 mm for Europe.

The ring must be in the harmonic frequency noise with tin for example the frequency is 60 Hz to 120 Hz, 180 Hz, 240 Hz 300Hz best that is as close to the frequency currents. Math calculations width of the ring is complicated to explain, and it is based on frequency values ekspermentalne cup and it is for cup diameter 80 mm, 0.5 mm deljina 200 Hz. Cup height is 40mm.
If you know some math to calculate its volume of cans if not I will calculate them for you.

Afraid

I was afraid to put my boiler in the water too, but when I did everything was okay and nothing bad happened. The key is to ground the water in the test tank holding the boiler and then everything should be okay. Wear insulated shoes and don't stand in water.

When starting for the first time it is natural to be a little scared, I think of two concerns:

1. I am afraid it will blow up! Dont worry it wont do that!

2. I am afraid it wont work! Dont worry it works, but it may take some time to get it working with full potential!

So put it in the water and "do it"

IKEA Flask (Instruction)

When you cut off the bottom of the thermos exposing both the inner and outer tubes you will notice that one tube is touching one side. This is normal. You need to work with the inner tube to insure that it doesn't touch the outer tube. This can be accomplished best by working through the threaded end with an oak rod of similar dimensions to the thermos opening. The inner tube doesn't need to be centered but just moved enough to one side that it doesn't touch the outer tube any where.

Sanding:
This is best accomplished with a belt sander and you hold your thermos firmly with a oil filter holder.
