    spinning visuals

    David,

    It is an interesting effect.

But it only happens when I watch it spin and then you stop it,
yes it looks like there is continued motion.

When I put my hand over to the vermiculite as you spin in and when
you stop I remove my hand, the effect goes away and it is perfectly
    still.

I could see the affect pretty well here too. I wonder if it's not maybe an optical illusion due to the spinning.

Maybe put some white strips of paper on top of the vermiculit in a cross pattern so the distortion can be measured?

    ?????

watch the center of the dish...it does not happen every time, but when it does, it is very noticeable....live it is the same way, and whoever is watching all see the same thing at the same time!....at least this shows there IS an optical distortion emanating from the center of my device....please note the time of the most vivid effect....at 4:30 is a pretty good one........david

    ???

jet, i do not know what has happened to matt and my device...i am glad that he and his son see the effects i describe....my latest device is twice as large as the first design....i am uploading a video as we speak that should shed some light on the optical distortion that my devices create....when watching my videos, try viewing in all modes [240p-720p]....the vermiculite looks like it is churning and after i stop the device, this churning continues....and it is able to be captured on video....i am still planing to use my brownie camera to document this energy...thanks everyone for being patient with me, this is all new to me also...rubberband, i have tried what you describe, i even shot some video, tried many different light sources, but nothing really good...YET...hopefully this new video will be a little better....i have been in contact with a guy who works for FLIR, and i still think FLIR will show a whole lot more.....i will let you know....and jet, i do not know whats up with matt remember bruce?...he disappeared for a minute also....maybe matt will surface again?....jet, i still have my first model, or i could make another one, but i am determined to get one to you to check out..[harvey and glenn too!]...that is if they still are interested.....i should have the video up this evening, thanks everyone...david PS...i know my writing style is annoying to some, sorry....

here is an email from matt....My cousin was on the fence about wheather or not he could sense anything emanating, but I could see it distinctively and my son could as well. I would like to have it another week if possible as there are a few more things I would like to test out? Do you have jetijs address or email address? ------i will pm you with matts info

    Hi David.
I have never received anything. Also I tried emailing Matt several times, all my messages came back undelivered by that email host.

hello David, have you tried to catch distortions in the shadows of your device on video? Try placing it close to a white background and shine a light on it and watch the shadows on the wall.......

    Effects of Solunar events

    Hi-
For anyone attempting to understand what Ed was observing in the sky it might be helpful to read this page: Hunting and Fishing Solunar (sun and moon phase) Calendar - it is written as a guide for optimal hunting and fishing, however I think it is important in understanding how Solar and Lunar events together produce tangible changes which must affect all life on earth. I was reading Peak Days, Peak Months, and Peak Times, and immediately saw a connection to Ed's work at Coral Castle.
It's clear he was interested in far more than the moon and sun, but you have to begin there and then factor in how other bodies influnence bigger picture.

    PS. Where's David?

    -Van

Heat transfer by conduction is generally much more effective than heat transfer by radiation.

When you state "normal thermal radiating heat" we get a mixed bag of possibilities. This is because 'normal' and 'radiating' are context dependent. Generally, radiating has to do with something leaving or entering a point or body. But I will take your statement to mean the most common form of heat encountered by humans in which they can detect it with biological sensors in their skin at a distance from a thermal source. This type of heat transfer is both convective and radiative because the air around us is a fluid but some of the radiation still makes it through to the human sensors uninhibited.

If we take that same heat source and put it in a vacuum, it loses the advantage of transferring energy via conduction and convection (convection is really a special case of conduction along with radiative absorption occurring at a particulate level). Therefore, the energy in the vacuum can only leave the source via radiation. The frequency and thus the energy of the EM photons emitted depends on the material and the temperatures involved.

A transparent Dewar will prevent a great deal of thermal loss via conduction (some still occurs at the neck), but it will not prevent the radiative losses. Nor will it prevent the radiative gains from the environment. As mentioned in my prior post, a reflective coating is often added that keeps the radiation from escaping. However it is known that the reflective coating itself will radiate from the back side to some degree so energy does still escape.
