Looks like the circuit is correct. though not sure why there is a resistor in series with the neon. Does the fan react if you short the base with the collector?
Does the fan operate at all?
If the fan does react to you shorting the base and collector then try this:
I found on one of my fans that the sweet spots were very very narrow. try spinning the fan manually then slowly fidling with the pot until you hear a noise from the coils. It might not spin up while doing that, but it will help you find the window of operation so when you spin it again it may start up.

Today I went to the store and I bought new transistor and two diodes (despite that I checked that all components when good). I have hooked up all the circuit many times...and the thing doesn't work (Also check interchanging the brown wires). So I upload the pictures with the explanation to see if you see my error. The blue wires for me are the positive coils and brown negative. Also I took red for the positive of the charge battery. White wire with a black permanent is the negative of my source. I think that's all.

we ran 1 fan for 120 seconds into 1.5 NiHM it has been running low current lcd clock for aprox4 weeks now still runs good and it has only occurred with NiHM so far . two other batteries (NiHM were un chargeable but took charge ok on fan ,still charged at 1.5 volts, where as NiHM usually loose small 10ths of volts on conventional chargers just sitting on shelf after being pulled off and stored , but these two batts will not run resistive or inductive loads(no capacity) but will throw small charge on any cap to there volts ,1.5 strange. but has occured ,i dont understand what has happened to them but you can discharge volts on caps and recharge the caps again and again with batts and they continue to stay at 1.5 (the NiHM).just an observation i thought id share.Originally posted by Aaron View PostHi Imhotep,

Another strange issue whcih occured once for me was charging a dead battery (10.25V) to 14.50V in seconds exactly like it would be a cap not a battery.And it was real charge,not full charge , but that few seconds allo me to run 12V/55W bulb about 3 seconds almost fully bright.

Ok.Thanks Imhotep for info about neon color. I asked because I have an astounding experience when neon which normally glow orange-purplish started to light in strange pale green... Unfortunately I changed parts and it stopped :-(

Hi Imhotep,
With those charged batts, did you try to power both a resistive and inductive load and they wouldn't work...I mean the batts that only charge caps without draining the voltage.
I've charged batts like this before and the voltage is very "fluffy" and springy...even if they don't power a regular load and the voltage drops on them..they spring right back up to the top once disconnected.
This happened for me mostly when I was charging with with very small uf capps but high voltage and very fast frequency.

i have been up for weeks can't sleep, you have just started scratching the surface . it so exciting (cold charging the nonchargeable ) i have some batteries that fully charged with no capacity ,in other words will not run conventional loads any more but will charge caps wihout running down.Originally posted by cyberphreax View PostWell. cold batteries! pure voltage and can be drained into batts .
have fun and share. radiant energy is different and you might be able to reinstall in original magnetic field ,but it might effect the radiant flow. let me know if it changes the charging ability.

It's alive!
Well. I got my first Bedini fan motor running tonight and I just recharged a AA alkaline battery that was destined for the garbage. I know this is very basic but I'm quite excited nonetheless
I'll be doing some more experiments in the next week and I'll probably build a few more of these. I'm already designing a pcb to use to clean everything up. I might even try to make a replacement round board with the Bedini circuit on it so that it's all contained in the fan. That just depends on how well my hole saw does with copper clad board. Lots of ideas floating around in my head.. too little time to play.. such is life.

It should have an orange glow to it, if you hit it with a lot of voltage it will go sorta whitish. If you look back at some of my previous threads There is a picture of one of the clear ones with purple brush traces that one was putting out big time radiant energy. Its one of my hottest ones.Please,please someone having neon with clear glass - give me an answer : what color is that neon light when circuit is running without charging battery ?

there really is no substitute for the neon. You can start it up without the neon if you have a battery to throw the charge into, which means you need to have 2 batteries hooked, 1 for charge and 1 for source, just make sure that you turn it off before removing charge battery otherwise transistor go bye bye. But the neon is the safest way to protect that transistor. If you cant get your hands on one right away, just make sure you NEVER take the charge battery off when running.

I've been working to hook up the circuit and I had working hard with the coils. They are very dificult solder without burn the plastic holder. The other difficult that I encounter is to make the forth post but I've done it with a silicon and it works good. I've hooked up all the circuit (cheking the polarity and the continuity of the coils) beeing sure that is the circuit that I have on the pick and when I connect the source (in my case an energizer of 12 V ) nothing happens. The fan didn't turn and didn't seem to being stop from any force. I have checked the continuity and the polarity of the coils so this seems to work good. I have also change one of the negative of the coils from the other one to know if this causes that the fan don't turn on, but nothing happens. Can be this because any of the components is destroyed? Do you know which can be the cause? What does the plus form the up coils means? The continuity from the coils have to be from the oposite one's is that correct? I hope so.
If another person know the cause I'll be please the heard from them. Light and love to everyone.
