    The proces is:
    HHO injection into intake manifolt
Ionized ambient air into the air intake.

The other option could be HHO and ambient air together thru ionizer and then into the engine.......

Do we need the human friendly negative ions or the positive ions from the ambient air?
    Tutanka? Others?

My current setup is so that i can make or positive or negative ions.
The negative ions are more fun to test with. The airflow coming out the tube feels cold .....and if you are having a hangover from alcohol these negative ions make you sober in no time....(well, it feels like it do so)

First step is to see if ionizer increase rpm. Will see if sparking surface is better than non sparking one. Currently testing on experiment table by smelling ozone. If it work will try with water spray and see if the gas processor can ionize water droplet fast enough.

If I can made a complete hho cells, will try it with hho output too. The gas processor should at least prevent H2 and O2 from hho booster output from recombining longer than few seconds.

Just like what jetijs mention, spark is not needed in the electrode. And it seems even sound of invisible spark is unwanted too.

    How proceed your work/study?
Sucess in building the ionizer with the help of 4 x 2.2 MOhm resistor. I rectify current with 4 diode in series. Still not try it on verhicle yet. Currently try to run it for hours. The transistor is cool.

555 based driving car coil, draw 80mA at 12V.

Still figuring out a way to isolate the voltage leak. Even the transistor is sparking now. And when the output is near any metal or ground object it start sparking. Still use small gap though. Will try to make it bigger.

You are right, the output should be DC, but as I said, I am using flyback transformers from old crt monitors and they have integrated diodes in them so the output is pulsed DC
    I see, thanks .

Well found, just a little change:-

The first patent you quote here is the way to go, but you use a UV fl tube, one wire to tube and the other to a screan around it with a gap for the air to pass, all encased in a plastic tube
