    Next Step?

Well, you are going to have to cut the top off the can and tune it to 60 hz. It needs to be 200 mm in length for the 60 hz deal, so you may need to add metal as I have with the American cans. Anyway, measure the length of the can from the bottom up to the top round of the can and let us know that measurement. Thanks.

now take a look at equations.

I measured ordinary Pepsi can diameter and circumference but before that I wondered...

    wavelength = speed / frequency

    take sound speed = 331 m/s

    wavelength of 400Hz = 331/400=0,8275=82,75 cm

    1/4 wavelength = 20,68 cm

Now look at beer can diameter and circumference - almost the same !

Is there acoustic standing wave inside beer can generated or it's just coincidence ?

Of course it is rougly computed and for sound speed in AIR (or STEAM?).

If it has any reson for that then the area of water outside can should be minimal and water will be keeped as steam inside can by acoustic wave.

Another crazy theory, I know.Sorry for that, I can produce new theory each day

    Frame Material

I've found some seasoned old yellow pine 1X4s. I guess I'll have to go with that for now.

    Frame Material?

I'm trying to find some expedient frame material for the prototype. I may just have to go with plywood. I need something fast and readily available. I know there are expensive alternatives and I don't have that luxury right now. Thanks!!

    Beer Can Boiler PDF File

Always refer back to post #198 because that is where I constantly update my pdf file for the Serbian sonic boiler.

I posted this for new persons who don't know this.

    "L" Frame

We're going to need an "L" frame to hold the can upright and the ring where it should be around the can. Something that won't take up much space that is portable and can be dropped into another container for testing. The other container should be non conductive because I think we have a serious potential electrocution hazard here. So guys, be careful and pay attention to what you are doing when you plug this in. Don't leave it unattended yet.

    This Tech

    Hi Chet,

Mr "C" explained some things about this tech I didn't share here. He didn't explain how it works but he explained who discovered it and that was real interesting. I didn't want any more problems on this thread so I didn't mention it here. What he told me was pretty exciting though. Everything is contingent on getting the can tuned to 60 hz. If we can do that I know we'll see exciting things happen and more information will probably be shared with me then.

    Best Regards,
    Slovenia

Here is my theory how it may work : electric current is kind of sound wave and can produce higher harmonic when using resonant circuit and standing wave. This device is doing that directly in water so instead of 50 or 60Hz AC current there is also a lot of higher harmonics (and seems third harmonic is the bigger if we trust Tesla - interestingly why ? ) - exactly like in plasma spark gap in air. Because power is related to frequency - time required to boil water is shortened a lot ! And that's all. No energy is magically created (except maybe from harmonics which are not completely understood) - just time to boil water is drastically small. if Don Smith formula is correct then in the best scenario it should take 64 less times to boil water using this device then using stricly 50Hz AC current (yet still current could be the same in both cases).

I really like this comment,Frequency as we have seen in the Joule Thief threads can do interesting things!
