Very interesting Tyson. I'm running a PICAXE, but could I see your code? It'd be close, anyway. Have you ever played with driving an AD9850 or 51 DDS synthesizer with Basic Stamp for the purpose of creating a sine wave, high frequency? Been thinking about that. I bought a AD9850 little breakout kit, (cause SMD soldering is NOT my thing...). I think the AD9851 has better specs, not sure.

Hi folks, speaking of flip flops.
I'm trying out matts tesla switch and using the Basic Stamp 2 micro-controller, I just used one 12 volt battery, hooked up to a transformer and I am able to precisely tune the output for highest voltage.
So basically a flip flop, though using the basic stamp 2 circuit kit to turn on the transistors.
It is lighting a 34 string of leds at full bright using 1.8 watts, not sure if this string is supposed to draw 4.8 or 2.4 watts, probably 2.4.
The inverter aspect is useful, though what also interests me with using this stamp circuit, is the possibility of using it to pulse one transistor switch or multiple switches, since it has 15 output pins and one could make a radiant charger from it and then the pulse rate can be fine tuned and who knows how it might perform then.
Your thoughts welcome.
peace love light
tyson

I did something similar too, what kind of transformer you are using? Одним словом круто.Originally posted by seth View PostHi - here are my latest results with a flyback oscillator
72W CFL . 35mA @5V 165mW, if we divide 72W by 165 mW that wold be 436 times less power- very impressive
UV tube 8mA @ 5V
21W CFL 1 - 10 mA @ 5V

Thanks Patrick and Eshan,
Except for the caps , everything is ready for soldering....
Ive just wound around a crt toroid core a 6 wire # 23 50 meters
and using the MJE 13009 only 4 at the moment.....
My solar panel 60 watts 17 volts dc will arrive next tuesday .....
my 2 car batteries 70 AH - just filled with distilled water
Hope to get this going by end of next week
In the meantime , i will replicate my flip flop transformer using an amplifier toroid
happy experimenting
thanks again

I cannot also find this cap in Sweden so I order it from Rick Friedrich web site and here is the link

@ kcarring
I replicated your 555 timer circuit using TIP31C and TIP32C. With 12 volts it draws 48 mA on high setting. The bulb is very bright. The transistors do not get hot. I like it.

Thank you for your patient with me for asking too many question.
And i also try with your help draw the circuit to help the others to replicate your experiment so bear with me.
I will change the drawing according to your last notices

xee2 - Just wanted to say you make the best diagrams of anybody on any of these forums. What program are you using?

Hi PatrickOriginally posted by minoly View PostEhsan,
I was not paying close enough attention.
the primary battery is backward
flip it so the + is up
leave everything else the same
then take the bottom trigger coil wire and put it to the primary +

I did what you said but i have a small question.
Do you use any diodes from Emitter to collector?
I appreciate your help very much

not on this build.Originally posted by ehsanco1062 View PostHi Patrick

I've used them in the past, but have not seen any advantage so I do not put them on, instead I keep the neon lamp there to protect the transistor. I am curious why JB put them in the patent...

18 VCT Transformer
Quick note: In my XEE2 Comparison video, I actually hooked up the wrong transformer (that's like me to do something like that)... so, in doing so I did end up testing the suitability of a 166K18, which is actually a 115VAC - 18VAC CT transformer, at 1.5A rated (not ideal) but still showing decent results.

Hi PatrickOriginally posted by minoly View Postalmost,
the 20k you have going from collector to coil should go from collector to base.
the bottom of the trigger coil still needs to be moved to the primary +
Now, these are all little ckt nuances the biggest part of the ckt that most people choose to ignore (this is why they fail) are the batteries.
