As for the toroid, I found one 10 cm dia by 40 cm height 15 0 15 230 v ac transformer toroid which definitely increase the 220 v ac led lamp output

When it comes to center taps in a transformer...
I really needed to "see the pciture", I found this DIY article helpful:

In regards to Toroids... I have tried to wind one, and I've never had any luck. Does anyone know the permeability number on that special toroid lasersaber has... was there a number?

That's a good one. Have you ever seen George Wiseman's High Output Capcitive Power Supply for HHO? It's an interesting read too. He lives down the way from me, he builds Brown's Gas Torches (among other things), he likes using 220v. He is a guru of using capacitive power supplies to get a perfect match and voltage to his electrolysing plates, keeping current to minimum. Hi folks, Hi kcarring, I guess I wasn't thinking, yes we would just use an amplifier circuit, just like an audio amp.
I'm so used to building only square wave pulse circuits, don't think I've ever built an amplifier, always a first time, if that time should come for whatever reason, hehe.

Yes the 3300nf cap 350v is polarized capacitor (E32D401HPN332ME92M) and here is the link

Thanks... It's all learning... for me... very fun! You'll have to excuse my ignorance, I'm not sure what I've built today, so I'm calling it the Kybrator. I'm sure it's basic text book stuff! You tell me! I was studying up, preparing to build a flip flop inverter like Lidmotors / Incroyables. This ain't that (or is it?!), but: it's fairly low draw, and met my goals for the evening.. so it was a success for me, anyway! One more step...

The Basic Stamp 2 is 2 microseconds per unit, so 1250 is 2500 microsecond pulse and a picaxe uses 10 microseconds per unit, so it would be 250 instead of 1250.
The sine wave module sounds interesting, though wouldn't the output be limited to that little board.

Nice! Runs better than mine. I've been fiddling around with mixing the source pulse with an amplified ground signal, in the middle of a darlington pair. I got some "flashes" but nothing stable yet. (like in a IMHOTEP CFL circuit) - trying to get away from that series filter. One definite advantage to this circuit is it's very low idle draw. I replicated your 555 timer circuit using TIP31C and TIP32C. With 12 volts it draws 48 mA on high setting. The bulb is very bright. The transistors do not get hot. I like it.
