Answer to the question from the thread about radiant spike

The contractors had separated the three phases and run each phase in a single conduit. All electricians know this is a no-no. You have to run a return with a source wire or else there will be strong inductive heating of any metal in the area. The flexible conduit had a metal inner lining and was covered by a plastic coating on the outside. The metal got so hot from the inductive heating the plastic started to melt.

That is why all house wiring uses romex type wire that has all the wires in the same jacket. And when doing industrial wiring all single wires have to be run inside conduit to keep the wires close enough together so they don't cause inductive heating in any nearby metal.

Having the return wire along side the supply wire cancels out the effect of inductive heating. This is true whether dealing with 3 phase wiring or simple household wiring.

When they rewired the furnace by putting the phases together in the conduits the problem went away and the furnace was used for several years with no problem. I guess for those of you wondering how they rewired the unit I should explain that because of the large amount of current required they had run 3 large gauge wires for each phase for a total of 9 wires. So it was pretty simple to just take each wire loose and reroute them so that each conduit had all three phases in them.

I too am sad to see how the content of the forum has deteriorated. Attack the messenger instead of investigate the message, has become too prevalent. I tend to just sit in the background and monitor what is being said to see if something interesting comes up. There seems to be little tolerance for newbies who are trying to learn, remember we were one a newbie too, and we should help them or what we know is lost. I will continue to monitor what goes on here and while I may not contribute often, I am still here.

Obviously some members have made great advances in understanding how things work, sometimes they are able to get that across to others, other times they are not so easy to understand. The worst problem is when they omit, mislead or misinform others to try and protect their ideas. Sabotage is the word I would use, and this keeps others from advancing.

It is true that we will take a dislike to people from time to time, I know i do it, but look at the positive work and let that speak for itself. It doesn't do to name names when it comes to negative aspects,as this leads to more conflict, but we should name names when we have something that has added to the overall knowledge.

Sorry to see you go. But I definitely understand your frustration.

I have ranted in the past about some of these same issues and have been sorely tempted to follow the same path. Fortunately, I have made lots of contacts here and continue to work with people like you and Matt, Randy, Luther, and David P. through email and other means. Those of us who are serious will continue to share, and as we get results it focuses and directs our research.

I am not saying that anyone specific on this forum fits that category, but I do believe that this occurs far more often than not.

Only you can answer that for yourself, but for me, the choice is to stay and help identify correct and workable solutions, test or prove them, and finally to share that knowledge openly.

I have debated with myself for several days now about whether I should even waste my time posting this. But I feel someone needs to say this. This forum has degenerated into a pretty much useless circus.

When I first found this forum several years ago in 2008 I was impressed by the quality of posts and advice available on this forum. I was impressed enough that my son and I went to the first energy conference in Idaho. There we met Peter and John and Aaron and many other serious researchers. Some of them like Matthew Jones and others I have gotten to know pretty well through private emails. I do not remember meeting Dave (Turion) there but have gotten to know him also through private emails. What I am trying to say is I believe at one time this was a very valuable and helpful forum.

What happened you may be asking or maybe you don't even care. On occasion there would be someone that would post making claims that were doubtful. When asked technical questions about what they posted they usually just faded away. Sometimes their response would be they didn't understand and wanted help trying to figure out what was going on. Other times they discovered they had made a mistake in measurement or something. Most of the time the replies were kept cordial and polite.

Then in 2012 Ufopolitics showed up with his wild claims about witches and motors. It became obvious very quickly that any questions about his claims would be met with ridicule. Even worse was the ridicule degenerated into severe slander and name calling. It got so bad Aaron had to step in and warn the offenders and some were banned.

After 3 years and many members spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on his ideas no one to my knowledge has been able to substantiate his claims. If his claims about his motor ideas were true then why is he wasting his time on a magnet motor? Where are all those believers that put anyone down that asked real questions?

I started this thread in hopes of having some real technical discussions without the name calling and slander. My very sincere thanks to those of you that have contributed to this thread with real technical information and ideas. That is what this thread was for. And to a small degree I think and hope it has been helpful.

I left this forum over a year ago because of the name calling and ridicule that was still going on even after Aaron's warnings. I was asked to come back by a couple of members a few months ago. I came back and found that now things are even worse. Bro. Mikey has joined Ufo in ridiculing anyone that does not blindly believe in whoever is his favorite false god that day. I also have found that almost all the serious researchers have left or at least have quit posting.

I have found another forum where the members ask each other serious technical questions and engage in serious discussion without the name calling. I have not given up on the idea of OU. I still very much believe it is possible. I am just going to put my efforts into working with people that are serious and not name calling clowns. Dufo and Bro. Mouthy can have this forum. I am out of here!

I believe a big part of the problem lies in the fact that any fool can walk into a shop and buy a phone or computer and from that moment on their idiocy is unleashed upon the whole world. The required skill level to get on the internet has lowered.

Another theme/form of behaviour seems to be to spam audiences with "exactly what they want to see". So, you want OU, do you? Here's a truckload that will keep you so distracted you won't even notice anything else that's going on.

I watch a Tesla group on facebook. They complain that Tesla is suppressed. What do they do about it? Post endless pictures of Tesla. As an observer I see that the suppression itself comes in the form of those pictures of Tesla which cover up all the scientific work and articles. They prevent progress through adopting the guise of being pro-progress.

hi gyula. the first detectors were b.f.o. technology has moved on, but i want to see if i can come up with something to improve the performance, and yeah, i like the idea of designing and building my own.
i just had a thought this morning. some car cd player manufacturers a while back developed anti skip using a delay loop of 2 or 10 seconds, not sure which. if the car hit a bump it cut out the messy bit and replaced it with another clean sample off the cd. all before you heard it. something like that could constantly compare the search coil freq. with what it was 5-10 secs. ago. this could replace the steady reference osc. and hopefully give it some immunity from wet beach sand or mineralised soil causing false detections, which needs sophisticated circuitry to manage, known as ground balance, in conventional analogue detectors. apart from making opto-isolators work i have zero experience with digital stuff tho. i can't think of an analogue way to do that, short of incorporating a cassette player with a loop of tape ! any suggestions anyone. is there a 10 second time delay audio freq. device or module out there? can a digital voice recorder be adapted or modified?
*i see things like hallmark novelty cards and other low budget digital audio diy stuff, that can record over and over. with 2 of these and some 555 timing, or similar, i could record on #1 for 10 secs while playing #2 at the same time, then swap roles. not so simple but the benefits could be worth the complexity.
pic 2 is an improved osc. circuit. the diode drop under vr1 is .6 v. t1 is a bc547. for 8.8 v input @ 5 ma the probe caps are perfectly balanced with a total of 2.8 v. at 6.8 v cranking vr1 up to 10 ma gives a slightly unbalanced 2.8v on the probe, and it's self starting if i turn vr1 towards the + rail.best to add say a 1k above vr1 to avoid a near short condition if it's turned right up.

** I didn't know there are diy scope kits out there for $20-60+shipping.the kit in the pic comes with all the smd stuff mounted and soldered. there's a handful of regular components to add yourself. $49 at jyetech.com. good reviews and good value.

So it is about metal detectors, ok. I recall an interesting-looking offer in ebay, though the schematic could be guessed only from his site: http://bscircuitdesigns.com/ You may be familiar with the BFO (Beat Frequency Oscillator) type detectors where two oscillators with identical or almost identical frequencies are mixed and the frequency difference falls in the low audio range when one of the two oscillators are detuned (by say a metal object). The circuit involves a microcontroller too, the codes are available from him if someone buys his ebay offer. His postage cost is too high though.

Such type of BFO based metal detectors are probably available on ebay from other sellers, though I guess you prefer testing and building such circuits. Nevertheless, ideas are good to see from others.

cheers mate. i'm playing with different oscillator schemes with the aim of developing simple but effective metal detector circuitry. the tank coil is the search coil. i'm not trying to extract any power from it, at this stage, but the output of the ferrite bead cored pickup coil i call a meter probe is more than i would expect, given the scale of the 2 coils. i lost my camera privileges. i'll make a scribble of it. see scribble. a continuous spiral core, maybe with an air gap, all the way around the search coil or ring cores instead of a spiral for a more ideal right angle could be interesting. hard stuff to engineer tho. i haven't checked it out properly and inside the search coil and outside are 2 different magnetic environments. thanks for the link and yeah google images has been very helpful at times.
