    Hey Guys,

    I only had enough diodes on hand to make four HV blockers for the plugs, six strings of 10 diodes each and then paralleled together and hooked to 4 of the 8 plugs. I hooked up to every other plug, no problem figuring out which plugs are hooked up to the diodes, that's for sure! wiring up the six strings of ten 1N5408's per plug seems to be working just fine. I am ordering the other parts first thing in the morning and will probably post a video at least of the bare minimum of the circuit I have working. So, see yall tomorrow.     As you can see, the plasma spark system recquires resistorless spark plug wires and plugs. That means the RF problems is very probable to occur.
    In fact, although I have not put the plasma system on my car yet, I have such type of spark plugs and wires. And gues what: one of the electrovalves does not function properly anymore. Let's hope it will do if I put normal wires.
    I don't know about your car, but I think some anti RF protection should be used.

    Hi everyone, just have a question. Do we have to worry about any RF trouble? Will Gregs system work with a newer car with a computer and fuel injection? If there are RF problems, can anyone think of a material or something that absorbs or cancels RF that can be put around sensative instruments under the hood?

    Hey Greg,

    Thanks a bunch for posting that info, that's exactly what I needed to know. As for the 5408 diodes, I found Fairchild 1N5408's online for $0.10 each. If I need 60KV of blocking per spark plug, what you are using correct? I would need 60 ea. of the 5408's per plug. Translates to about $50 total plus shipping. If I used the NTE-517's at 4 ea. per plug X 8 plugs, cheapest I found was $6 each, would be about $200 for a V-8. My time on the clock to assemble the diodes into strings should be less than the difference in price. Leads me to a question for you. Since you and I both have better results with parallel diode arrangements, do you think I would be OK with six strings hooked parallel with 10 diodes in each string per plug? I will probably elect to go with the larger diodes for the final installation to limit the required amount of space to install, along with a little less voltage drop, but first I need to be cost effective and make it work on the bench. Thanks for the confirm on the ultra-fast diode importance at the cap and coil, I figured they were crucial. I already have my circuit working on the bench as is at 110V, your circuit will allow me to isolate and stabilize my plasma spark, shutting down the feedback between the 12V and the 110V. SUCH CRUCIAL work you have performed in all of this, I can't thank you enough for everything you have figured out here! Well, looking forward to your comments on the couple questions above, then it's on-line to order the parts. I'm so excited about the whole thing, I can't even sit still in front of the computer!!     jstadwater, the goal is not to obtain any type of blow. We need it only between the spark plug's electrodes.
    If you want us to help with the protection issue, you should give us the schematic of that ignition to think at, and the wiring in your setup, too.

    Hi Kinetix,

    The Bug has never been this peppy! I don't have to choke it ... which speaks volume to the ability of the plasma spark to ignite cold, poorly atomized, poorly mixed fuel-air mixtures. It's very exciting. With such an enlarged envelope a GEET application looks very good indeed!

    to open the spark ring end as to let air inside cylinder as it tops

    The end ball seals the spark tip having all the compressed energy
    released in cylinder not wasted in presurizing & heating a hose.
    It goes directly to cylinder .

    This design must be able to ROTATE as to PERMIT direct USAGE of
    unaltered spark plug hole , and valve can be made as long as required
    to fit any car motor design, tip also designed with UNIVERSAL adapter
    to fit converted Spark plug injectors to any car engine.

    ou can prepare a solenoid AIR valve with old spark plug

    and time it with the same ignition coil timing contact ..

    Use compressed air as fuel only compressed air,reuse the COLD air
    exaust recompressed to gain energy by 1/273 expansion volumen of its
    cold state 1deg per 1/273 expansion.. using recovery compressor RV
    driven.

    That is a very encouraging result from Bills journey and video report.

    Does anyone have an idea of the normal mpg for that type of vw combi?

    He didn't provide that statistic in the vid which is fairly important as a reference for comparison...

    1 ea. modification to make the distributor points act like a SPDT switch
    1 ea. fuse holder
    1 ea. 1A fuse

    If so, could you give me the specifics as far as part #'s, types, and what sites you ordered them from. I thought you already listed the specifics, but I can't find it anywhere. I just want to make sure I build the exact circuit you have designed, as it is perfect as far as I can see. Also, can I use 1N5408 diodes in place of a single HV diode in your schematic? Which ones, series or parallel, and what are your diodes' voltage blocking rates so I know how many to use? I imagine the ultra-fast recovery ones for the mosfets must stay, right?     Hi jstadwater,

    The HV diodes are 15KV blocking and .5A ... which is why the parallel. You can use whatever they decided for in the Nexus. I used parallel HV to get the amp rating and avoid the multiple voltage drops of so many diodes in the alternative. A string of diodes is much cheaper than what I've used ... I have not tried strings but should work nonetheless. The Ultra Fast Recovery diodes are soooooooo important in that they protect the discharge and charge Mosfets from Back-EMF on switching. I know it seems silly to use one on the Cap charging circuit but a rapid discharge from a capacitor can generate what appears to be a damaging 'spike' ... a diode here is cheap and worth the wiring as a safeguard. I may have already stated the Mosfet Packages are the Crydom D2D12 200VDC 0-32VDC control input: source = Mouser.

    I use UF-5408-E3 for the fast recovery protection diodes - one each across the Cap and Coil and their ratings are 1000V 3A. You should be able to use any 5408 axial for the long strings but the faster the response on the diode the less heat will build. I think the UF-5408-E3's cost $0.44 each.
