I believe Matt mentioned bi-filar in his video's ; I want to have a basic reference motor and setup first to compare to the 350w one which I will wind with 40-30-30 with 8-strains of Litz wire.

The wire sleeves you have in that motor are way better than the ones I got stuck with. They're easier to rewind without a hassle. Where did you get that motor?

Larger generator progress

Just wanted to post some pics of my Dave's modified generator.
All four boards came out fairly close to the pattern. The 5 larger holes for coils. The smaller center hole for the 1/2" shaft.



I need to stand each 24" x 24" board about 3" apart to hold the coils in place. So I plan to use 4 1/2" bolts to hold it upright.
Will use plastic threaded bolts 4 1/2" long and bolts to prevent any drag on the rotor. Was wanting to use brass bolts but read that even brass can get magnetized over time.

Not my place to correct or tell anyone how to replicate this 3BGS.

I have had this conversation with Aaron about how many wires in parallel and the size wire.

I have success with my setup because the two instructors that have invented (Matt's modified motor)or are the most experienced with the 3BGS idea. Matthew and Turion. They said they don't mind helping anyone that is willing to listen and follow the already "posted" build instructions.

According to Matthew he didn't make that pdf. Turion said another member here made that pdf.

PDF on Tesla Switch

Everything in the Tesla Switch Guide Matt posted is correct. Although I'm pretty sure he didn't include EVERYTHING he knows about the Tesla Switch. This document is based on the work of Benitez. I've built every one of the configurations Matt shows in this document, including the BIG one, and I can assure you that they all work. Matt helped me do this years ago. I should mention that there were issues NOT covered in the written directions, and there may have even been some errors in the written directions. One thing for sure is I needed Matt's HELP to get mine running.

Your question was, "Is it relevant?" That system is incredibly relevant in that it teaches you how to run loads between the potential difference, as does the 3 Battery System. So both are relevant. I think what you are REALLY asking is which system will get you excess energy or the MOST excess energy.

That is going to depend on the size of the system you build. And what YOU design the system to do. Both are limited by batteries, and batteries are affected by temperature. Both have a collapsing coil that aids in the charging of the batteries. Both take advantage of potential difference. One produces mechanical gain, while the other produces pure electrical power on the transformer secondary.

What everyone here really needs to understand is that BOTH of these systems teach you principles that you need to apply to the construction of energy systems. Let me give you an example.

I build a three battery setup that runs my motor for free and I connect my motor to a generator. Now I use the output of my generator to run lights OR to simply charge up some batteries.

If I have built the Tesla Switch I use the secondary off the transformer to run lights OR charge some batteries.

With either system I can accomplish the same goal. Both WILL WORK if you know what you are doing and build it correctly. Where you will get help when the Tesla switch doesn't work like you expect it to, I couldn't say. If you will notice, it is a MUCH MORE complicated system.

But here's the thing. If you DO exactly what I showed doing in the bold type above, you are a short term success but a long term failure, because you haven't learned the MOST IMPORTANT lesson we have been trying to get across to people. We're horrible teachers, aren't we? Because I bet nobody has a CLUE what I am talking about, despite the fact that I have said it probably a couple HUNDRED times on these threads.

I want you all to think about it for a bit, and then I will say it again, because I know you need to be reminded. But this time tattoo it on your forehead so you see it every time you look in a mirror.

Yes that is a Matthew or Turion question. I'm constructing larger Dave's modified generator. Got more parts today.
