I found that the charge rate was well over 90% and the mechanical power well over 10%. Ok there is a margin of error and it is difficult to measure the mechanical torque of such a small device but my figures gave me a 97% charge rate with a margin of error of 6%, so it could be anywhere between 91 to 103% and mechanical power of 33% with a margin of error of 30% so it could have been anywhere from 20 to 40%. Worse case that's 111%
In all honesty I have not built the imohotep fan. My bedini experience started with solid state, and then moved into an exploration of your circuit, and also socahoyas circuit. Finally, I migrated back to the classic SSG, and now I stripped it down and I'm running it producing beefy spikes in a Doug Konzen style, that is to say, triggered by reed switch, big fat bifilar air core. I charge with current and spikes. I don't believe any of these said devices are free energy devices, period - that's just my opinion. I believe that instead... they are very difficult devices to measure energy in / energy out... however...

I believe they are very useful!!!

First off, they desulphate. Second off, they definitely fall in the range of 80-90% efficient, which is actually better than my store bought charger. I don't believe in any of the talk of battery conditioning, and negative energy etc. etc. - I just don't buy it. The inductive spike is a well examined thing, and if you dig deep you can find all the math you need to perfectly explain it. I experimented with all-new lead acid batteries, and frankly, I don't see any free energy going on; efficiency - sure... but you know what they say about that... best way to make money is to save money, so that in itself is "freer energy". All in all though, I consider it like this:

"Everybody ought to experiment with, extensively, The Bedini Motor. It is a great learning tool, a useful circuit, and time well spent. It desulphates batteries, and in my experience when run in C-E mode charging w/spikes it's a better way to charge batteries. Is it free energy? I do not believe it is. Then again, how many battery charges keep you cool with a fan, desulphate your batteries, and charge them efficiency in a manner that seems to be less invasive on their structure? Every off grid home should have one. It's a great circuit, made by an individual who is very talented and very generous. Are certain advanced versions of his device overunity? Possibly. Would I, or do I see a need to carry on building them? No, in my opinion they will not go far enough overunity to scale up properly. The planet was not destined to run on billions of batteries charged by low amperage chargers."

All in all, I do not think you can fairly place the Bedini technology in the "scam" or "myth busted category". I have heard John, himself in videos explain his take on where he feels the free energy comes into play, the company does not wave the free energy flag all over the place... the equipment / circuit they sell has good merit, value, and is useful.

Over time, I do see a trend.

    It is this.

There are two types of "free energy device inventors". Those that have built one, perfected it, lived by it, improved it, and never ventured too far from it. Aka the Mullers, Floyd Sweet, Joseph Newman. Then, there are individuals extremely well known by all in the community, celebrated with events, and these individuals have surrounded their careers with DOZENS of different variants, methodologies, projects, inventions...

I believe that it is an interesting observation.

If you invented something that TRULY, UNDOUBTEDLY produces free energy...

    would you move on?

Or obsess, improve, dedicate, duplicate, ensure replication... etc. etc.

I think it's pretty obvious who the (albeit very talented / intelligent / informative / helpful and insightful) "free energy poster boys" are, and those few who really may have had something, downright for real.

PS. Not that I am saying I believe in Joseph Newman, Muller or Sweet's designs. In fact, I don't hold much faith in anything purely electrical. I think the answer will come more from mechanical means, i.e. Milkovic, or stuff that isn't overunity at all, i.e. tidal, centrifugal, geothermal... etc I just think that if any of the devices were for real, it won't be the numerous and many, that the posterboys' all seem to throw at us.

Has anyone seen my Bedini Ceiling Fan that pushes the warm air down, and charges batteries as an added bonus? Me neither. 'Bout time I made one!!!!! :P

May be I shouldn't have dredged this up but when I started to read this thread it I couldn't help my self. I am not posting this reply to discourage experiments and research on regenerative acceleration. In fact I honestly believe that line of inquiry has massive potential, but I tend to agree with farmhand on this one, that he could have very easily robbed peter to pay paul on that score. I think this just stirred me up because his explanation of the bi toroid core for mit made me a little bit angry, I think if I ever tried that one again i would go the gabriel device version. If woopy had only shown the voltage on his video for his replication (very nicely done though), I would have shut my mouth and forever held my piece on this subject.
