Your Tools

They are incredible. They make all the measurements a piece of cake and with a click of a button you either have mm or inches. They are great. My 302 stainless that I cut for my new ring turns out to be .8mm and not .5mm, so that may make a difference. I was using a meter stick for my width measurement and got it a little off too. Hopefully I get the new ring rolled sometime this weekend for testing early next week.

I can't figure how to measure my way thru a Davey replication?

This device is a whole different story!
And also this device has history that predates Mr.C !

He just figured a cool garage mechanic approach to an easy cheap replication
And perhaps a little reason to empty the beer cans??

I don't imbibe so I will be a lot more frugal with the cans!!

Some thoughts and an offer!!

1st the thoughts

It is obvious that the frequency, the device and the water all play roles in a successful replication .
Since you and I are stuck with the mains as our Driver
We will be limited to the device and the water for tuning

Yes Tuning the water too......
I believe we will be playing to some extent with our water ,I have read where a man in serbia is using potassium in his water ?
I think we will need a benchmark for our water too... PH ,specific gravity
and any other way we can establish "conductivity"[suggestions???]

To spend all this time "tuning" then drop it in the water fire it up and Nothing happens...........
Well the heck with that
play with the water ... then drop it back in!!
Or have several drop tanks!!
If nothing still ,well time to tune the rig again rinse and repeat!


These things will be important for Core also IMO!

If we record all data , it will be much easier for this community to
get this figured?

Plus of course our ace in the hole "Mr.C"??

Thanks for kind offer, but I think somebody should do it without exact measurement , to validate if that works just by idea or only by strict positioning of elements (I'll make s close as possible to required diameter and gap using only hand tools). I have only simple hand tools sometimes very crude , that means a lot of time to build anything .Anyway if I could make some OU thing that would mean EVERYBODY CAN - that's the concept (because I am also the worst builder I know )
What I really need is the insulated stainless steel rods or something like that to electrically disconnect terminals from metalic water container or just an idea how to do that from scrap parts. Something like threaded SS rod sunken into piece of plastic also threaded from one side and which stand for boiling water temperature....

Laquer thinner to remove laquer.. fine sand paper and elbow grease if that doesn't work!

I believe the idea for using beer cans is so ..."Every body can" Replicate!!

I believe you are completely correct we don't have to stick to the PDF for this effect to manifest! That being said ,I cannot take that leap of faith and build something Ground up!!
This man has it working ...It is a replication of a very very very prominent
mans work from the late 1800's early 1900's

And I am sure Mr.C wants to see Slovenia get this working ,and will help in all manner of ways to insure he does!

The reason I made the offer to you is I know you have limited tools,
I also know how difficult it can be to have to improvise without resources

You could try baking can in a 450 deg f. oven for an hour. Let it cool, fill with some sand and shake.

By the way ,You just added a very good dimension to this device {material density.hardness Tune],In my opinion the only reason Mr.C used a beer can is the Guage is so thin that it reacts with the frequency,like a soft diaphragm!

If we annealed [700 f] a larger wall tubing to make it softer it would probably do the same thing.[well of course it would]

Just thoughts for the future ........

See The other Device "Davey's ,,He started to explore the idea because of his nightime airplane rides, he would
play with the throttle and get the cabin to resonate in such a way that it made heat.........

Remove Paint

Boguslaw,

I haven't tried it on the beer or pop cans, but brake fluid or carburetor cleaner will remove paint from a car. I've gotten them on my car before. The carburetor cleaner comes in a spray can for cleaning out the carburetor and/or oil and grime from around the carburetor. It is very incredible stuff. I think it contains methylene chloride a carcinogen though.

I will try it on the pop can and let you know.
