    Last night I placed a 3uf ac start cap between my two joined inverter circuits, which makes for an easier start of the circuits, as they won't start by themselves sometimes when they are still cold. It does also increase the Cfl brightness slightly. I don't have a big 5 uf cap, so I used what I had on hand.

    After looking at his videos I see that he is only using the original 400 watt transformer, 5uf cap, a start resistor for shorting, and the ground. Obtain any voltage to light leds using the ac house ground is only due to stray ac wiring capacitance. Which won't work if the house breakers are turned off.

    My question is then why can't we obtain the same 400 watts of inverted ac output, to light much more than just one Cfl (brightly)??? What do we need to do to obtain all 400 watts of ac power?

    Placing egg magnets on my yoke core coils reduces the ringing to non hear-able levels, nice! As my family can't handle the ringing noise. I've also managed to bring the transistor heat issue to barely warm levels.

    Yesterday one of my 12v 7ah batteries somehow shorted itself out, got hot, and died. So, today I am charging it back using the HV from the twin inverter circuits. We'll see if that helps...

    I find that usually when charging batteries using HV they may be charged back to normal voltage, but their current levels are not the same.
    I need to do more testing on this, as charging batteries from small solar panels needs some help to actually do some useful work.

    So far, what I see is that using my time and money to build bigger solar panels is the best way to go. Trying to get something from low cost smaller solar panels and batteries is not worth the effort, and mostly it's a waist of time. And the price of solar cells is dropping, more each day. Thank God!

    my initial test

    rgn38 circuit using water tap as earth minus cap
    load one 5 w led lamp 10ma 25%brightness oscil;ation sometimes stop no useable light produced
    2. earth in 12 0 of xfr to led the other leg goes to neg of wall adaptor
    it will light up even with no voltage or outlet switched off
    so earth plus adaptor neg wire willdimly light an led
    3. flyswatter hv to p and secondary to six led lamps and loopbak to sec and primary to hv
    itwill ligjt immediately all six andbrightness depends on theswatter charged battery

    my original xfr 18 0 18 110 0 110 produced better results

    a solar panel booster such the sg oscillator of bedini will enhance charging
    12vled lamps consume more current whendirectly connected

    so at the moment jr is for emergency lighti g only

    the flyswatter circuit if enhanced to 12v can be a good alternative

    I will do the test tonight
    and revisit the jr thread
    at the moment I ve assembled 8 4 from the old jr which is not so bright @ 200 m A and only useable light for emergency
    the other new consumes 300 to one ampere but very bright the downside is fast drain on the solar charged batteries

    well see tonight on the attached link in combination earth ground
    just found the video yesterday

    The 12 led bulb consume 240 ma for one so not good for solar set up
    I agree to utilize the earth..... I will try also to replace my flyswatter hv with 12 v dc and check the current consumption the flickering was solved by addition of parallel caps

    Have you tried to use any 12v led bulbs on your solar set up?
    Seams like we need to do a real comparison test, to determine if these circuits are really better and more efficient than just running straight from the batteries to light low voltage 12 volt led bulbs, without a JT, or Exciter, type circuits.

    I posted the link to what I think is the video that you are mentioning in the last post above, I hope that it is the right one.
    That is probably the best way to go especially if the draw is as low as he is mentioning, like 200mA at 12v.
    It seams very interesting that it won't work without the outside earth ground.

    Hi to all
    Ive boxed up my joule ringer and replaced the original transformer 18 0 18 / 110 0 0 110 with 12 0 12 / 220 0 / using same transitors / resistors
    I can adjust from 400 to 1000 mA to full brightness.....
    My problem with the latest set up is it easily drain my batteries 2 7.5 aH in parallel from 12.51 to 12 .21 4 pm to 10 pm with 6 5 w led 220v ac led lamps
    Unlike before with the old set up The drain isvery slow and can run the lights 24/7 with 2 10 w solar in series and one 12 v 7 ah battery......

    My analysis of the the above set up is:
    1. the secondary coil use only half 110 0 and the the other half left open thats why I can adjust from 50 to 110 max only
    2. The new set up consumes a lot with minimum 400 mA and Max 1.2 Amps

    egn83b has used caps , and two earth points to boost the light output with just a transformer ( 400 w) transistor n a base resistor for starting

    I need to go baack to the old transformer as the latest set up is not good if too much drain on SLA batteries...

    Also the first set up used Alum batteries that can gor doen to 5 volts with the lights dimly lit the room

    Im also using mono crystalline for my set up

    Any ideas on how to deal with this...... must have the same parts to achieve same results in my opinion.....

    "I've been racking my brain about this device for a year, but finally I found the illusive TIP transistor, had to special order it direct from -Lirpa Sloof Technologies-.
    I finally got the device working, but, I connected it to my electric lawn mover, and now it runs backwards."
    What did I do wrong??? Please help...

    scobedo1, like NickZ mentioned, that transistor doesn't exist. It was just a funny joke comment and really never thought it would be taken seriously. Sorry if it mislead you, really do apologize.

    I'm Not kidding. Forget looking for it...

    I'm still working on getting the gutted Cfls to light as close to full brightness as possible, without excess heat on the transistor. The gutted Cfls use less current to light the bulbs than most any other bulbs,and there is no ringing from the core.
    I am using an earth ground on the Cfl bulb which helps a lot. Also the same earth ground also goes to the battery negative rail. More light is produced this way, with less heat, and no noise.
    I've also added my 1.5" by 6" Exciter coil (L3), to the output end of my JR 3.0 ferrite bead rod's secondary, to obtain more voltage to light the gutted bulbs. Higher voltages but with less current, so the 12 battery lasts longer on a full charge.
    I'll upload some pics in a day or two.

    Hi folks, hi donmatos, this was mentioned before in some thread.
    Though have not tried using the toroid ferrite permanent magnet from a speaker.
    If the magnetism could be removed and kept that way, then it might work ok, not sure until it is tried.
    Someone did say that by heating the speaker magnet, it then became brittle and broke apart, so keep that in mind, if you try it.
