How, I can't explain, but wood is more like a sponge (to be squeezed) than metal is.
I've read where wood shows detected torsion effects 70 seconds
after the experiment had ended, much much longer than metal does.
Torsion is always involved / part of the energy (and any energy!).
@Inquorate, thank you for trying the twig thing.
Just looking for something other than: light, sound, spark or color to observe.

If the twig moves at all, it might only move a couple of degrees. You
probably would not notice a movement unless the twig had stopped moving
before turning on the circuit. This I found out after more reading elsewhere.
Also, most of what I've read indicates any detector alone does not work
without being vibrated (how isn't told) or something else.
