To be sure, are you accomplishing magnetic lock, or can you check for this at all?
Else, perhaps it's to do with David's "loose" fit on the cutting board. On the simpel ring, the lock seems to be directly associated with a contraction of the path of megnetricity (if that is the word here). I am not sure this dynamic is there in your setup. The way I visualize, the segments want to "set" themselves. They seek the path of lowest (or highest) resistance, and the loop is a fact.

Hi all.
Today was another day full with playing around.
I fixed the pieces together using the hose clamps very tightly, then I used zip ties and fixed the pieces in that tight position. Then I removed the clamp. Three layers of zip ties held the segments together so strong that it was even very hard to slide them between each other even a bit. This is much tighter than ever before. Unfortunately still no result. This time I used only one coil to energize the rig. Then I tried to put the pieces on my rotating wheel to see what happens on higher RPMs, I bolted the ring down using 4 screws and washers. Before I could spin it up to about 300RPMs by hand, this time I could go up to 600RPM before vibration became a serious issue, but still no results. Here are the pictures:

I saw it! Better than in your very first video's.
At first I believed because I (want to) believe people, now I believe because I saw what I think you saw. It's quite beautiful. I'd rather call it streams than waves as I saw it on the video though.
It seems to manifest itself in the shades of black. Perhaps a camera known to have great dark color depth could be used to uncover this even better.

i annotated the videos...it is still hard to see if you dont know what to look for...this energy is visible ...it does not disturb the air, that is why the schlieren method did not work very well...the gas is visible because the air is disturbed...the sunlight worked good for a first time effort... i will try this again today...davidOriginally posted by IndianaBoys View PostDavid,

HI Jet,
Do you have enough shaft exposed to wrap a string ( fishing line or light cord ) like a gyroscope? This may allow the higher RPM's needed to show the effect.

As far as 2 coils go.... Didn't Leedskalnin say the proper way to do it is with 2 segments, oppositely wound, joined in the middle....negative in the middle and positive on either end?

Hi all
Just to clarify, the clamps will go off after the rig is compressed tightly and secured in that position. The segments don't touch any metal on the rotating platform, there is a 8mm circular plexiglass sheet between the segments and the fan. All the cores, magnets and copper wire is removed from the fan. The fan rotor is made out of a hollow cylindrical steel segment (about 1mm thick) that is closed on the top side, the blades are plastic and are attached ti that cylinder. There is a 5mm diameter steel shaft in the center of the fan and it goes through two bearings that are fixed in aluminum housing. All the frame and other stuff is made out of aluminum. Two coils on the segment array are only as an option, this way I can see if it works with one coil and if not, I can try two. As far as I know I have connected the coils in parallel correctly so they shouldn't cancel each other out.
I will try compressing the parts together tightly today and if this wont work well, I will fix the segments on my previous plywood rotating platform with a motor beneath and see what happens at higher RPM's. Our sensitives say that the current setup with Davids segments seem to almost get to the effect at higher RPM's, the most that we can spin it by hand, but that is just a little too short for the effect to manifest. We are a little below the minimum threshold

insulated yes..as far as the 2 coils...i use only 1...after you get a feel for whats going on, you might try 2, but for now use 1 coil....remember the magnetic lock i refer to is not strong like a permanent magnet...as long as you can get good continuity through the segments[insulate between 1 junction and check with a meter] you should get a lock...Eds PMH is a metal circuit for this energy to "orbit" in ....i will make another video with more attention to detail right now....should post within the hour...check out the last 2 vids....davidOriginally posted by witsend View PostDave. jet, are you using insulation between your coil and your segment?..if so take it off and rewind the coil and check with a meter to be sure the coil is grounded ... i will make a video with more detail if you want me to...the hose clamps will work but i would insulate where it touches the ring...witsend is right about that...that is why i used zip ties versus hose clamps to keep the segments isolated....also why i used hdpe for the disc...i bet wood would work also..ive got to post some vids....more soon....david
