By that, do you mean that you are using a Smack Booster with the plate array wrapped in heat shrink material, or sided with acrylic, or what?Originally posted by redeagle View Postmy dad and I are using self contained units instead of the flooded. We have found that we get less leakage across the ends of the plates that way.
Or are you talking about a totally different design, such as this new shim cell type? YouTube - #140 - The Amazing HHO shim cell

Hi W,Originally posted by wpage View PostRick,
Thanks for that. Are you running the advanced generation 1 smack in your vehicle? Or generation 2?
W
Mine is a modified design of the original Smack Booster, and all my stuff can be seen here:
Modified Smack Booster - Windows Live
Ash, can you provide a link for the BB SmacK? I didn't realize that Bob had done anything with the Smack design. I know that Bob made a brute force monster with about 100 plates that he demonstrated in a Prius, and I know that Smack made a six-pack arrangement that he used in both a Cadillac and a Ford Ranger with good results. One Smack can put out 1.7 liters per minute of HHO (I've done even better than that during max production) and six should be capable of 10 lpm. Smack said that he used two batteries to power the six pack, instead of using the vehicle battery and charging system. He disconnected the vehicle battery, started the HHO production, and then connected the vehicle battery afterwards. He says that reset the computer with the HHO already flowing, and that he made no changes at all in timing, and did not employ PWM or EFIE or OxySensor alteration. Nothing was changed, and he was able to attain an 88% mpg boost and go to 46 mpg with the six-pack on the Ranger. Bob Boyce, on the other hand, achieved about a 33% boost on his Prius, going from 45 mpg up to 60. It seems that he should have done way better while running an engine with a much smaller appetite for fuel than what a Ranger consumes.
I really like the design of the "Shim" cell that I linked to in my previous post. It is about the same size as the unit that Bob Boyce uses, but the assembly is much more simplified with this shim design.
I will probably add a second, and perhaps a third Smack to my Mazda truck next summer, but probably won't do much more than that with Hydrogen. I have about 215,000 miles on the engine now, and would prefer to convert the truck to all-electric operation after the engine gives out (or maybe even before that).
Best,
Rick

I appologize for the delay, I was talking about a dry stack cell with tractor innertube for gaskets that the water flows through rather than the plates sitting in water.Originally posted by rickoff View PostBy that, do you mean that you are using a Smack Booster with the plate array wrapped in heat shrink material, or sided with acrylic, or what?

I sure do. I'm sorry about them being a little fuzzy. The pvc bubbler doubles as a reservoir for extra water.Originally posted by wpage View PostGot any images on that dry stack?

Going for Praveens latest
Ash, Rick, Red,
Thanks for the input. After analysis and some excellent data from the good folks at Panacea.
Decided to go with Ash reco on the new Praveen hydroxy booster. It appears to currently give the most bang for the buck. Looking to escape some of the maintenance issues the smack gen 1 presented. Building the smack and a effie was cool Mr. Wizard stuff. However its time to use something that is reliable
After this Praveen puppie has run a few thousand miles I will report on it
