My magnesium/copper battery build

Here is how I build the famous battery.

First you must drill a hole in both ends of the magnesium rod.

Next, you cut pvc pipe to size.

I use 1.5 inch schedule 40.

Next, you use #14 AWG copper wire for the positive.

Use enough to wrap a form that would equal about 7.83 turns, mimicking the 7.83 Hz of the Earth's frequency.

Next, insert the coil inside the pvc form.

Make sure to equally stretch the coil to meet both ends.

Next, sturdy the pvc form on a stable base to position the rod into place.

Using duct tape works fine.

Next, fill the space with activated charcoal.

The charcoal secures the rod very nice and tight.

Next, wrap it up tight with duct tape.

Make sure you have a hole for the magnesium rod.

Next, mount and wire the new battery to your project.

In this case, it is a solar yard light fitted to hang inside.

Make sure that you use your magic formula to wet the activated charcoal.

In this build I use alum mixed into distilled water.

Using a solar yard light allows the battery to be disengaged when a regular light source is used.

You should not use jars or any fragile container.

This was my lesson in how the batteries can out grow their containers.

What voltage do you get from this battery?

After 24 hours of running with a load, the output voltage is 1.455 and without a load is 1.75 volts dc.
