    hello Bizzy

    thanks for the videos!

How do you control it by a big storm?
What kind of generator did you put on it?

    Cheers

      Hi Brian,
      You are welcome

As far as storms, we live a block away from Lake Erie so in the winter we get 30 to 50 sustained winds during some storms. There were a few time we even got gusts to 90. That is according to the airport just up the hill from us. The windmill and tower rode it out just fine!!! As you can see it wasn't much to look at but it was solid.
As far as alternators I use a high byd of Hugh Piggot. It is the same kind I am using on my cuurent work(see my Bedini Machine aka Watson Machine thread)
I have made quite a few improvements to Hugh's design which really helped enhance performance.

        I gone read your thread!

Maybe I worry to much with my adjustable blades?
If fixt blades work just as fine why make them adjustable?
Ill will put the thing on a trailer and go to the beach with a big storm?

Or maybe put the thing on a pickup and put the pedal to metal on the highway.
That should make a nice YouTube movie!

        Cheers

          Hi Brian,
OMG we did the same thing....We built a wooden mount onto a utility trailer and pulled it behind my subaru at 80 mph. It lifted the trailer off the ground a few times LOL but wow did it spin!

But seriously if you have your unit anchored well enough those things can take ALOT of punishment

              Hi Brian,
Good luck. I can't wait to see the videos

One other thought you could try as well.

I have a camp and part of my property butts up against a railroad line. So I put up some cross beams between some trees and let the draft from the trains turn the windmill. It actually worked better than on a tower.
Unfortunately beavers flooded that section of my property so moved the windmill to the house.
My wife says that we do have pictures of the windmill on the trailer, so if I can find them I post them and show you.

              Again good luck!!!!!
