    I think the "magic"is in the hand.

    I have seen this, and related, devices work only when the magnet is held by hand.

    The tiniest movement of the magnet is enough to create a little unbalance.

    It does work as said, but only with the handmovement.
    That's why you never see these experiments with fixed magnets.

    It might work with putting the magnet on a spring, and some speedbumps on the track.

      pushobviously unbalanced and has to turn and as it does the sprockets and chains will hold the weight in a horizontal position. Right? Well that is what the guy who designed it claimed and he had three pages of calculation to show the amount of torque produced at different points of a revolution. It was quite impressive!

      However there is just one smallis in perfect balance, with the two weights moving around opposite each other in a perfect circle that is offset from the main axis.


      Here is the inherent problem with any unbalanced gravity wheel. The distance that the driving weight falls from its highest point to its lowest point, irregardless of the path it follows, is the same distance that is must lift a corresponding weight. But when this is achieved the system will no longer be unbalance.

      Addition energy must be applied, magnets, nittinol wire springs, etc.

        This design is very similar to the Hampster cage motor, which has been successfully replicated. It is tricky to get started, but does, in fact work as described. I have seen it work myself. It puts out very little power and has a tendency to change orientation at some stage, requiring an adjustment of the magnetic stators position. Some advanced techniques have been tried to make it more reliable and produce more power, but I don't know if they have been successful because they have not been posted anywhere that I know of. One thing that I have seen is to coat the rolling ball in order to make it have less slippage. Another is to have another one on the far side top, outside, with a magnetic stator controling it as well, to produce more power. I haven't personally replicated it as it is mostly a toy, but does prove that a magnetic motor is entirely feasible. The ball is fighting a battle against gravity and magnetism. As the magnetic field increases, and it will, the magnetic stator has to be adjusted. A heavier ball, and stronger magnet may produce more power, but precise alignment would be critical.             Here is a website if you decide to try and build one. The Hamster Cage Magnetic Motor I have been using this concept to build a more powerful unit but it does not work like the Hampster motor. I have most of the parts made, waiting for warmer weather to assemble and experiment with. Good Luck. stealth
