  • Friction Steam Boiler

Sorry I inadvertantly titled my first post "Friction Steam Generator". I am looking for any info from someone who is still using the Lloyd Tanner unit. Is it working? I would like to start out making heat for my home then advance to producing power and hopefully getting off the grid. Any info would be helpful. The original post seems to have died off and I am hoping to revive a discussion on the unit.

The best place to "revive a discussion" would be in the original thread, which can be found here. It is a long thread, but you can find within it everything you need to know if you are interested in building a replication of Lloyd Tanner's friction steamer and utilizing it to produce heat, steam, or power generation. It's not that the original thread died off, but rather that all facets of Lloyd's device were very thoroughly covered and most questions that anyone might ask have already been answered. Lloyd was very generous in sharing information, drawings, and photos with us, and we greatly expanded on this knowledge to ensure that any interested replicators would have more than enough details to ensure a successful build. I encourage you to read through the original thread, and to post there if you have an unanswered question or wish to contribute photos, drawings, or details concerning your replication project.
