Good topic! I find it interesting how many people interested in alt energy are also aware of sound money. For those of you who dont understand all this "buy gold/silver" that you are starting to see everywhere i highly recommend you watch this vid.

It would be a good idea to check out local dealers such as coin shops in your area. Best bang for your buck here in the states is pre 1964 silver dimes, quarters, and halves, also known as junk silver(dont let the name fool you, its not junk). You can usually find it at spot price if you look around. Other forms of silver carry a premium over spot price so you will pay more for them but they do offer some advantages depending on what your going for. Any transactions under $10,000 per year, per dealer, are not required to be reported by the dealer. Stay out of gold/silver stocks. Just get the real stuff and hang on to it.

Silver is a crazy roller coaster ride right now as far as price, if thats going to make you sick then you might prefer gold as its bull run is much smoother. Either way, there has just been a major correction in the commodities markets. That means if you have been considering getting into it, now would be a pretty good time to make a move before the price starts going higher again.

The phrase may be "can't see the wood for the trees"
