@slider, i hope it works for you. I meant to point out as nueview has, that variable resistors for the 1150 ohm resistors would be good for tuning your particular coil setup, as it will be different from mine.

scopes over on youtube.com. I watched your video where you used a coil to look at The Slayer output, that's great! When you say you fealt one should not put the oscope directly to the collector / ground on HV circuits, does this include these 110 VAC inverters? I imagine the spikes, go fairly highly... 2-300? Or, were you referring to CFL circuits where we are spiking into the 4-600 VAC range? I just don't want to wreck my scope, I just got it !
