Coolerado has AC units 90% less power than normal. BUT... I have never
been able to speak to a human being in over a year of trying to contact
them or a contractor that does installations. It is a legitimate company but
the customer service is not just poor - it is non existent it seems!

I have to agree. after dozens of calls,
all I wound up with, is "Scripted" (Sales) answers...

There is nothing new with this device. It is simple absorption technology that has been around since the 1920's or so. instead of using a fuel (propane, natural gas, oil) they are using Mitsubishi 'inverter' compressor technology. In the Heat pump mode the compressor is used to heat the ammonia/water mixture. Old technology with a new marketing ploy.

Then again 'everybody' who is making ductless splits is using inverter technology developed by Mitsubishi, years ago, and calling it there own.

Indecently, technology that has been developed for the commercial field over 50 years ago has been 'pimped' to the residential field, for the last 10 or so years, as cutting edge technology.

I have been doing HVAC for 20 years. 80% of the so called 'new technology' has been around for decades. Furthermore 99% of the marketing is designed to 'Fool You'.

Where do you live?

The Coolerado cooler has NO latent heat removal just sensible. So in a nutshell, works in Arizona but not in Florida.

Not sure what your looking for but in my professional opinion Multi-Aqua are by far the most flexible.

It's not remotely close it is exactly what they are doing. They are using a compressor and a remote heating source (solar heating) to drive the ammonia solution. These systems have been in trailer homes FOR YEARS. In trailer homes they use propane as the heating source.

I'm not trying to come across as a wise a$$. There is nothing new in the HVAC field except compressor inverter technology from Mitsubishi. The so called 'cutting edge technology' has been around for decades. Common folk have no idea so it's easy to fool them with good flashy marketing.

I can go on and on for days about stuff like this but why bore you.
