Suggestions for Additions to Facebook Group Content

Hi folks, i'm looking for some inspiration and suggestions for improving our "Free Energy Facebook Group". I am always on the lookout on stuff to inform people new to this topic. The below are the current "Permanent Content" seen in the "Photos Section", please tell me if i missed one or if you have any suggestions

Obviously there are hundreds more techs and inventors. But generally speaking, so far i have limited them to things i am comfortable defending in comments, or because of their unique informative value.

I am especially looking for more International devices / people to share, since this topic is too "U.S.-centric" and i am sensitive to that, as we have a large percentage of International Members.

Hi Jib i was thinking about this for the new outlay of the Panacea site also, i think CATEGORIZING stuff may be of use?

For example "commercially FE available today"
Potential to resurrect - R and D needed
Suppressed - lost and sketchy details.
Deaths - suspicious circumstances
Energy savers (retrofitting modifications)?
Open source
etc..

Of cause just my useless 2 cents M8

I realized in looking this over again today i DO NOT have the Joule Thief in there yet... my bad. Can someone suggest a good photo to use for this?

Nice, lol i did not imagine it was in Wiki That one has only an LED though; which may not illustrate the importance of the circuit for Third-World or other applications of efficient lighting as good as a CFL or other fluorescent would... Especially to those who don't understand electronic circuits.

It would be wonderful, for instance, if someone who was a high mucky-muck with a large charity saw it and wanted to use it to help rural Africans; who now suffer from poisonous fumes from burning some nasty stuff to get light at night, or simply live in the dark once the sun goes down. Someone with money and backing could get a system with small solar panel built cheaply, to freely distribute there and other places in the world. Think of the great press that would give the Open Source Energy community if that became widely known!

I was thinking maybe of one of Lidmotor's pics showing his excellent work (and others here have done great work on this too, such as the Doctor ): Perhaps someone will let me have a pic to use . Especially if it is Open Source, for the above reason given in the example.

BTW i really do appreciate feedback. I want to make and keep that FB place for us all. It can never replace this Forum or others (and i would never dream of doing so), as it is not a real discussion place, it is simply mainly to spread the word that THESE THINGS ARE POSSIBLE to new folks... and to make the statement that there are viable alternatives to oil; we don't have to go on living this way any more.

We need dozens more things like this to get 'er done, tho

Hi jib,

I found a couple that might help.
Most of the high output jtc's use a big and hard to get toroid.
the little 2N2222 is not able to get the power high enough to light a cfl or tube.
These 2 show a detail of the circuit then that circuit lighting a tube.

Plus,
I made this video for the people of the world who cannot get a good toroid.
I explain in the video that I took the tiny orange toroid from the circuitry of a cfl and used it to make a jtc that lights 42 leds in series parallel.
I use that lamp in my camper. It works really well.
I call it the world light cuz anybody in the world should be able to make one.

The thing to realize about my joule thief circuits is that I am NOT using the C-E junction of the transistor.
Instead, I am using a "secondary" and the extra high spikes that light the "world" come from that.
It is certainly easy to make a plain joule thief circuit that uses the transistor, but this is pretty limited to the milliamps produced across that C-E junction!

I admit to not being up on this subject as much as i should have been (and i may be using too narrow a term; as i previously considered "Joule Thief" to be a much broader subject that encompasses many variants, including many inductance-related lighting stuff like what ~Imhotep~ was doing 2 years ago with the CFL's and what Lidmotor is doing now)... as it is important; and a great example of what Open Source ingenuity can do

I may use the florescent one or a similar one (the more light shown emitting the better); does anyone have any efficiency figures? Maybe "equivalent incandescent watts to real watts", or "lumens to watts"?

Or can someone suggest a good working efficiency figure for these systems to use generally (conservative enough that it can be reliably supported by several folks' recorded and anecdotal results)?

there is a real problem with all of these, except the anecdotal kind.
Mostly it is because the led is different from other types of lighting.
If you measure the spot of the led it is incredibly bright and is how most manufacturers make their brightness claims. If you look at the led from the side there is very little brightness.
If you look at the last 2 pictures of that video I linked which is a slide show, you can see an inexpensive solution that works very well. a plastic trash bag is a great diffuser, but there will be no efficiency figures with plastic garbage bags coming from the manufacturers, I assure you.
That lamp lights up my camper, and when I want to read, I use a book light. This is not the american style, but non-americans will have no trouble using this, I am sure... IF they can find a decent toroid and a supply of leds.

There are many real OU concepts that have been discussed and replicated with success in this forum. I think those ideas like joule thief, SEC, etc, etc should be made known as well, as they can potentially rock the boat. If we don't do that, the oil industry will take advantage of the ignorance of the mass and continue to lobby the government to make war or to destroy the environment.

Another issue is: instead of asking for donation from the public, is it possible to make the FE community financially independent? For example, can you make something like ehow and wonderhowto, in which case you can use the click-per-page advertisement to generate income? i am just tossing possiblities.

Thats Exactly why Panacea started to help with support/awareness, education and community support of the OPEN source genre. All projects we do are only to put remuneration back into he open source work and environmental projects. Eventuality an educational institute is whats needed to progress to capacity. (thats what most of our ground work is for)

VERY good ideas, to have a category for open source THEMES, ie the SEC and joule thief THEMES are important, what the Doc has done to advance education and how it would not have surfaced with out this forum's open source engineers, The Doc is certifiably one of the troops.

The click able "ad sense" or what ever thing is a very good idea for the ease of remuneration return to help projects. Jib already does a lot of volunteer work for Panacea and has let this face book site be the official Panacea one, so i trust him with the ad sense to do projects in this way.

Lets make it clear. I said some inventions deserve to be known, but we are not here to support any psuedo educational institute who askes money from the public in the name of open source science, particularly if the scammer organization is simply a denier of global warming, or a supporter of the oil industry.

There are better and more powerful organizations who welcome scientific contributions from the green sector. They are actually funding alternative energy research. There is no need to rely on any skeptic of global warming who is spending all day long chanting against al gore or anyone that has nothing to do with the rest of the world. Think about this. A receptionist from an oil company can earn 5 digit yearly income. Open source inventors have to labor hard and starve them, but for what's sake?

Do not forget that the oil industry (or the wall street) has already labeled the alternative energy sector as a green bubble. Do you think these haters of climate change or lovers of oil will let a good invention be used against their own agenda?
