    idoit in need of help

    Can anyone help me mod this little 555 fet noisemaker so i can change the duty cycle?
    this is the spec.
    the pot on the original is crap too so losting that and replacing it with something better may be a help too...

    its cheap and can be used for alot of things if anyone can help

    Changes to 555

    Just add another pot where the 1k one goes, and add one diode.

      so good in fact, that I thought of it too! Great minds, eh?

      though I didn't use the noise maker...

      If you are trying to make a square wave generator with variable frequency and duty cycle then try this:

      555 Astable Switch Kit : TR Kits : Maplin

      Astable 555 relay circuit... with a bit of modification it can be turned into a square wave generator with variable duty cycle and frequency...



      sorry for the blurry image... my camera sucks at close ups...

      you can change the range of frequencies by replacing the capacitor that is labeled on the image for a lower value if you want higher frequencies or vice versa... can't remember the exact frequency range with the 1uf cap but it was a few of khz... I remember using to make a 3khz square wave for an oscillator....

      if you think you will be swapping the cap a few times then best use the jumper cables to connect it as well as the pots or you'll mess up the board.

        protection against AC

        To protect against AC, if you are going to CHOP into a coil,
        you can add RF chokes; one for the positive V+, and another for the
        GND input to this circuit board.
        200uH chokes should work fine for most high-frequency AC.
        These will prevent high-freq AC from glitching things
        on this little board.

          to make this thing sing is going to be easy!
          the chokes too brillant I remenber nat1971 using chokes back in the imhotep light thread, its droped the input
          so a AC blocker is a choke right see i am a idiot
