  • Charge from slow motion

    I just stumbled upon a way to charge batteries and capacitors from slow-motion, so to speak. It's of course even more efficient in high RPM's as well.
    Maybe it's all well known, but the difference is quite significant, so I thought I would share it.

    A magnet passing a coil with a rectifier charging a capacitor.
    If You connect another coil, with a switch, in parallel with the first coil, possibly away from both the first coil and the passing magnet, You get a lot more charge.

    Look at the minimal circuit below, L1 is the coil the magnet passes by.

    The reed-switch is positioned at about 45 degrees from L1, and since I have 8 magnets the switching is at, or just after, when the coil switch polarity.
    The rectifier is on L1, not L2.

        Hi Peter,

        Putting the rectifier across L2 works even better. Makes more sense too

          With a second switch in parallel with the first switch, somewhat apart, I can catch the second pulse from the stator-coil and make it into a spike as well.
          So for each passing magnet I get two spikes

              I didn't know that I'll look into it tomorrow.

              My circuit reminds me somewhat of a Split-Pi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
              I think I'll go through the circuits at Switched-mode power supply - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia , there is a table at the end.

                I bet a lot do not know this.
                All what you can read and get teached, is a lot of very dry Stuff, but nothing,
                where you can gain or save Energy.
                I have a 3 Coiler Bedini, where i interrupt one Coil with a Reedswitch and feed it back, to speed up the Rotor
                But anyhow, i cant take Things right apart to get something usefull out from this.
                Its indeed a interresting Effect, just mostly still to less Energy compared to what you have to feed in.
                Maybe it is, when you try something like the Split-Pi Link, you gave

                    When you say,interupt the coil at TDC,that is when the mag. is directly over the coil core? if so would that not be 0v? so nothing would happen.
                    There seems to be something I haven't got right!!
