I'm not using the ramp compression scheme at the moment. I found that this type of mechanism works best with a compressible medium, such as air. Water is incompressible and doesn't pressurize the way air does. I'm trying to replicate the water hammer effect instead.
I don't have any continued rotation yet. I'm still working out some mechanical bugs which seem to show up with alarming regularity.
Like you I have some other projects I'm working on so progress on any particular mechanism comes in spurts. I love the planning and building part, but have little patience for the tedious tweaking part. It would be nice to work with someone who just likes the finish work.
Anyway, it's coming along. I let you know if I have any luck with it.
