High Voltage from Thin Air?

The originals were purchased for the form and slug only and rewound before placed on the PCB's. They are still available but I no longer support anyone buying from this place.

Anyway hang in there for a few days. I have been working with a new simple design and it does not use the base coil (L1). The unit is tuned with a small variable cap. So the new design has one less coil and a cap for tuning along with a method to show when the right mode is found. There will be a video of it first followed by release of the circuit.

I'll be waiting with great interest ! Thanks, that sounds wonderful especially having a method to know when it's tuned.

I ran into the SEC while researching LC circuits for high frequency induction heating and it seemed like a good candidate for low level heat... didn't expect it to be this much fun ( and challenging )...

Input 22.5V @ 0.030Amp = 675mW

Receiver has 48 LED's each at 3.1V connected in series = 148.8V at receiver.

The receiver is passing 22.5mA through the LED's so 148.8 * 0.0225 = 3.348W

Impressive. It would be helpful to know if voltages are RMS or peak-to-peak and what duty-cycle the LEDs see.

coil output

i'm sorry if i am asking on the wrong place but i'm trying to find out a bout a bifilar coil. what is the forumal for finding out what the output for the coil. ie 12 volts 1000 turns what is the voltage out put . sorry if i am in the wrong place to ask this question if so could you tell me where i can get this information or you coud answer it foe me thank you

I agree with Slayer---WOW!!! Those numbers rattled around in my head like a BB in a tin can. Doc that is quite alot said in just a short statement. All of us who have built your SEC already understand what this means. With a little help I think that I can replicate your experiment and post the results. The more of us that do it the better. 675mW in & 3.348W out---- at the end of one wire. WOW.

Busy building a LEM wave detector. Once I transfer it from the proto-board to a circuit board I will gather all the info for the new Exciter design.

Here are my requirements for confirmation;

You will need a good light meter that has an accuracy of better than 5% for the White LED spectral output. The comparison is made from a ref. DC to the Receiver LED's in operation.

You can use a good filter and a 1 ohm or 0.1 ohm Carbon composition resistor as I describe in my Measurements Document, BUT, no clip leads or sloppy wiring.

If you are not going to do it right so Apples are Apples and Oranges are Oranges, then forget it and do not waste your and my time on trying it.

To show the CEC>1 it has to be done right, period. You will have to use my exact spec's, no (my coils will work just as good), its my way or don't do it.

Anyway soon, I want to finish the detector as it is a great help in the work.
