It's no use pretending this isn't a major blow. The emails extracted by a hacker from the climatic research unit at the University of East Anglia could scarcely be more damaging. I am now convinced that they are genuine, and I'm dismayed and deeply shaken by them.

Yes, the messages were obtained illegally. Yes, all of us say things in emails that would be excruciating if made public. Yes, some of the comments have been taken out of context. But there are some messages that require no spin to make them look bad. There appears to be evidence here of attempts to prevent scientific data from being released, and even to destroy material that was subject to a freedom of information request.

Worse still, some of the emails suggest efforts to prevent the publication of work by climate sceptics, or to keep it out of a report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. I believe that the head of the unit, Phil Jones, should now resign. Some of the data discussed in the emails should be re-analysed.

But do these revelations justify the sceptics' claims that this is "the final nail in the coffin" of global warming theory? Not at all. They damage the credibility of three or four scientists. They raise questions about the integrity of one or perhaps two out of several hundred lines of evidence. To bury man-made climate change, a far wider conspiracy would have to be revealed. Luckily for the sceptics, and to my intense disappointment, I have now been passed the damning email that confirms that the entire science of global warming is indeed a scam. Had I known that it was this easy to rig the evidence, I wouldn't have wasted years of my life promoting a bogus discipline. In the interests of open discourse, I feel obliged to reproduce it here.

The only source for that 5,000 number that I can find was from ONE Russian estimate, and was never accepted as accurate. At the same time,t here were populations estimates as high as 40,000. So, why did you pick the 5,000 number to go with for the billboard?

It's interesting to see so many "opinions" on the subject. Unfortunately, we live in a world where there is just enough truth added to a twisted phrase to make a lie sound like the truth. When it was "Global warming" and the days were hot it worked well for them, when it went into lower temps the wording miraculously changed to "Climate change". That, for me, throws up the red flags. They seem to alter their wording as the seasons change in order to keep their movement going. Since a lot of people don't do any homework they tend to "parrot" what they've been told. You hear a lie long enough it simply becomes the truth - still a lie but enough people believe it to be the truth.

What it boils down to is control - less freedom - who is getting the benefits of the carbon tax? What will the money be used for? I'd bet it has nothing to do with climate change, global warming or anything else you want to call it. This money will go to a UN faction that is controlled by corrupt individuals that will simply use the money to benefit themselves or a personal cause.

Do you suppose if they really wanted us to switch from oil to something else they would have the something else ready to go? If they did have something else in mind do you think it would be to your benefit or theirs?

If there is a Carbon tax, who do you think could do more with the money - energy researchers, government or the UN? You've probably noticed that anything that can't be controlled is banned for "national security" reasons or for "your own protection". They can't stand the thought that people might think individually, provide for themselves, be responsible and follow a moral path - ultimately waking up and realizing we don't need them.

Do you really think we need Ccore in our schools teaching our children how communism is so wonderful and the free market system is krap. All you have to do is watch what they are doing and all the pieces will fall into place...

How much money do they need from our taxes... If I make 500.00 they take taxes out which leaves a little to spend. When I spend the money it becomes taxable income again. This gets spent and becomes taxable again over and over again. So they get it all anyway, with the exception of what I can save which eventually get's spent and becomes income for someone else. What they really are trying to say is you should work, give all your money to them and they will decide what you can or can't have.

One day they'll come out and put bars up on one side of your property, tell you it's to keep the animals out, for your own security. The next they'll put bars on the next section with some other BS story about security. You don't realize what their doing until the last set of bars are in place and you can't leave... they only have a couple more sets to put up... are you still sleeping?

Carbon Tax

The carbon tax does not hurt the energy companies, they just shift the cost
to the consumer. So we pay for all their bad business practices. The
Australian government has been giving rebates for grid tie solar systems in residential
properties, but then as soon as the scheme is getting wound down the price
of electricity rises by 25 %. So any benefits gained by the solar systems for
some but funded by all tax payer money, are negated by reducing tariffs for the solar
grid input and also increasing the price people pay for electricity. They own it,
they can charge how ever much they like and change the rules whenever
they feel like it.

Companies will not reduce profits, they'll just charge more for the product.
By charging more for the electricity people will need to earn more money and care less about the environment.

The carbon tax is a criminal scam.
The first home buyers grant drives up the price of homes, it hinders in the long run.
Child care rebates also ruin the balance of things.

If a coffee shop was run the way our governments are run it would go broke
quick because there would be no tax input to waste like confetti.

To my way of thinking, taking tax money from all and using it to subsidize
schemes for some is kinda reverse Robin Hood tactics, not good. Take from
the poor and give to the rich.

What we must realize is that the ruling criminals of this world use the police
and military to protect their crimes. Talking to them is pointless, they laugh at
words because they have guns and psychopaths to use them .

They love talk, they want people to talk for ever, because the alternative to
talk is action.

Hi Level, What does the other data on the graph represent ?
On the left side it says's "Temperature compared to pre-industrial".
So the big grey area is the spread of temperatures before industrial activities ?

If so the temps we see now are well within normal pre-industrial limits. What's
the fuss ? How does that prove it is only caused by human industrial activities ?
And how did it get so hot before without any industry ?

What does the black line represent ?

I think it is well known the Earth was much warmer (at times) in the past
before the industrial revolution.

Carbon Tax is still a criminal scam, in my opinion. It is the want for money
that causes the problem, if it is caused by us that is. Increase the want
increase the problem. A bit of warm weather is not worth worrying about
considering all the other more acute toxic contaminants humans put into the
environment.

Carbon tax is just another commodity to use to make more money and the
legitimacy for it is created by deception, fear mongering and propaganda.

A sign of the sickness of the modern mind is to throw money at all problems or
tie the problem to a money making scheme as the solution, but is it a solution ?
Is there a real problem anyway. Pollution-yes. Global warming-no not in my opinion.

P.S. If our governments were honest and working for us as well as
appropriating the money correctly it would not be such a problem, but it is
plainly obvious our governments don't work for us, but we pay them anyway.
In Australia we were promised "No Carbon Tax" by Julia Gillard the Liar, then
she goes ahead and does it anyway even though we didn't want it.

We the people own the resources and the environment we should be taxing
big business for the pollution, but not specifically carbon, and the revenue
should be used to investigate, prosecute and punish the more serious
environmental crimes. Put people in jail, get serious and the problem might get
better.

It would not surprise me if big business could get a tax concession for the
cost of fines as a business cost. Which would make the taxpayer pay the
fines anyway.

Many bigger businesses already allow excessive unnecessary waste because it
is quicker and easier and the losses can be claimed as tax breaks.

I think the grey area is the range of different forecasts with the dotted line being the average. No idea what the black line is either.

Even if the world is getting hotter.....Who actually thinks we can stop it?

Pollution will end...when fossil fuels are ended. Until then...nothing will stop us from polluting the hell out of this world...

Every year more people are born and more people drive more cars and burn more pollution. Take those carbon credits and flush them down the toilet. They wont save anything.
