  • HHO cell, plate conditioning? Protium system

I bought a protium system, couple of months ago, and finally got the chance to put it in my truck.
Products of Protium Fuel Systems Research & Development

They still haven't sent me the power conditioner, but I went ahead and got the thing running.
In the instruction they say that the system will mud up when the system starts drawing close to 30 amps. Right now the system is only drawing 2.8, but thats up from yesterday.

So my question is about how long does it take for plates to condition? I realize that different setups have different results, but I am just looking for some averages or insight into what I should be looking for.

I have wrote them but apperantly they are real busy or somthing and they tend not to write back in a timely manner.

    Thanks
    Matt

I haven't heard anything good about any commercial HHO products, such as water4gas, etc. These companies sadly are usually just scammers giving hho technologies a bad name. Ebay seems to have some good "dry cells" available.

i was looking at their systems a while ago have since built my own. i will be very interested to see how it matches up seeing as they aren't cheap. you say it is only drawing 2.8 amps? that would indicate something is not right if it is supposed to draw 30 any idea if it is making the right litres per minute of gas.

If your electrodes are made of 304 or less stainless steel, iron will leach out and turn the water brown. 316L Stainless Steel is probably the best you can get, but the price is kinda high, and will leach also but, much less. The muddy condition will persist for several days of running, maybe longer but you get the idea. Change the solution when the brown gunk muddies the water. That will be changed 4-5 times, maybe more. I would suggest using distilled water as it has no impurities which will help prevent the brown guck. I hope you are using KOH or NaOH, and not baking soda as that will release toxic gas. Your manufacturer may recommend something else than what I recommend.

          Stainless Steel Conditioning

Here is a treatment to condition electrodes and stop iron bloom

The system is built well. I have no complaints about that.
I am running distilled water only, they said thats all it needs. No catalysts.

They did get back with me and told me the plates condition in about 48 hrs. The amp draw is steady going up about 2 tenth's an hour.

I bought it despite its price tag, because I didn't want to build one myself right now. Gives me somthing to play with though and learn from. While saving gas. It is as high quality as most of the ones I have seen built.
And you get everything with it.
Other than the fact its takes along time to get the parts I got no complaints.

I was primarly wondering why the plates have to condition or what is happening when they are conditioning. If anybodies got any input.

OUt side of what I have read here I don't know much about the HHO devices.

            Cheers
            Matt
