If you happen to hear from him, let him know best of luck to him and his family. I have been through about a dozen hurricanes when I used to live in Florida, they are no fun to say the least......A whole lot of clean up is always required....

Has anyone heard how Redmeanie is doing?

My brother was down in Houston working as a monitor for the debris cleanup and says the area is pretty messed up. Still some areas without power... contrator running the cleanup is totally unorganized. Further south towards Galveston is supposed to be a big mess.

I was just wondering how Red made out and when he would be back. I've been waiting for him to ship me some parts I ordered. Seems a 95 Saturn won't readjust to the Smacks booster without an EFIE and a PWM is a necessity for controlling the heat.

Red, if you see this, I hope you fared well from Ike.

Thanks for posting this Tux..... And thanks everyone for your concerns! Im back and trying to get things going here....It has been ABSOLUTELY Devastating to both my family as well as Thousands others.... Many including my family members that still lived on Galveston Island Lost "Everything" in IKE and due to insurance loopholes will be getting $0 from them. But as many will say, you live on an island, you should expect this kind of stuff. This is true, but to us a Category 2 hurricane is usually a walk in the park. This storm was just so very, very large that it pounded us for 10 hrs instead of the typical 2 or 3 and brought a huge surge of water with it. Houses that were on 10ft stilts were getting up to 4ft of water inside them, just to give you an idea of the storm surge with this thing.
It is to the point where people are refusing to even go back onto the island to see what is left. Im a veteran of 3 conflicts and have seen destruction before, and to think this kind of damage could happen here, and basically be swept under the rug and hardly noticed is shocking! Just goes to show if the headlines won't sell, it won't be reported much....By the way the body count is around 80 now with over 150 still unaccounted for, but it's more important to hear about who Britney Spears is blowing or who that Thing "Palin" is supposed to be related to, than to worry about regular working class people or the economy.....

I have visited one of these homes in Pensacola Beach, FL. It took an almost direct hit from a hurricane. Minor cosmetics aside, the owner said no structural damage was done to the home. I loved it. My wife however curled her lip at the very sight of it (which is a bad thing)
