My induction cooker-1500w-uses a monofilar pancake. I have tried to make bifilars resonate at the same frequency as the monofilar cooker but it just seems impossible. So I wound a monofilar the same size as the cooker and it works great. It powers a 1500 w heater easily. Now i am winding a second monifilar coil oppositely. Actually it appears that if I wind another one even in the same direction as the first one, and then just flip it over upside down, then I have an oppositely wound coil. But I'm not sure about that. Just for a visual aid I wound two coils of 10 gauge wire 5 turns each-oppositely wound. When I flip one of them overit is still oppositely wound!
    Hi Asolid
I really don't know if two oppositely wound coils overtop one another will act like a series wound bifilar. The way I understand it, the uniqueness of this coil is due to the attraction between adjacent windings.

As far as resonant points, I believe the series wound bifi pancake coil will have a lower resonant frequency, tho' I can't right now remember where I read it.

Perhaps someone else might have some more helpful observations to share about your coils.
    All the best,
    Bob

Hi Bob Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me if a monofilar pancake coil also emits scalar energy impulses? I have no clue how to test for scalar energy impulses. Is there some kind of detector to build- maybe a cadeuceus coil or maybe just another swbifi?

        Hi Asollid
As far as I'm aware the scalar impulses are produced by the caduceus and series-wound bifilar coils. There's an interesting setup with two bucking magnets held together with a wire coil that has a battery at one end and an electric motor at another. I believe it's an early Bedini scalar demo. Here's a link:
        SCIENCE HOBBYIST: Amateur Science page

I researched scalar detectors a couple of years ago. All I could find was something that quoted Bearden saying something about entrance doors to large stores with scalar detectors. I'm not really sure it's worth going about looking for. There probably are scalar impulse detectors; I just haven't researched them lately.

If you want to know more about scalar impulses, look up longitudinal waves, or longitudinal magneto dielectric waves. Here's just one interesting link:
        longitudinal | MERLib.org

I'm on the road right now, and can't quite find the references coming to mind. Will post if I can find them. I believe scalar and longitudinal impulses are the same thing.

        Bye for now!
        Bob

          From an electrical engineering standpoint

          Hello,

Just wanted to share my thoughts.....

When tesla states the coil is wound in a way where its inductance is annuled by a capacity.....

He is talking about resonance, nothing to do with actually making the pancake coil have no inductance...like many of you are attempting to do. this is the wrong direction.

"What I claim as my invention is.
1.A coil for electric apparatus the adjacent
convolutions o'f which form parts of the
circuit between which there exists a potential
difference sufficient to secure in the coil a capacity
          capable of neutralizing its self-induction,
          as hereinbefore described.
          2. A coil composed of contiguous or adjacent
          insulated conductors electrically connected
in series and having a potential difference of
such value as to give to the coil as
a whole, a capacity sufficient to neutralize its
          self-induction, as set forth."

So, basically when a coil has more voltage between its windings...it has more capacitance...

When resonance occurs, it is between an inductor and a capacitor. When the reactance of inductor = reactance of capacitor then you get resonance. this happens at a certain frequency dependent on Inductive reactance = 2*pi*frequency*inductance and capacitive inductance = 1/(2*pi*frequency*capacitance). They are opposites of each other and the energy associated with these two components is only described with complex numbers, in other words "imaginary numbers."

When these imaginary numbers properly annul each other, as in the CAPACITANCE of the coil is large enough (naturally) to reach a state of resonance...the current through the inductor becomes in phase with the supply (there is no wasted reactive energy!!!!). This dives into the Q of the coil....The higher the Q the higher the efficiency the coil will operate at resonance...This is the part tesla was playing with. You can wind coils to get Q factors in the hundreds...this will make a system more efficient than anything you can buy on the market. There is no "free" energy, but energy can be multiplied to the point it would make the current system obsolete....and if your energy input was from a waterfall (niagra falls) you could pull the energy out of the earth anywhere as many times as you wanted....Thats the free part.

A coil with inductance, wound in a fashion like tesla describes makes a coil with more self capacitance (than a regular solenoid), to balance out its self inductance....for resonance to occur more easily!

What I am trying to say is that only when the coil has inductance will it achieve resonance...winding a pancake coil backwards to the way tesla has described effectively makes a non inductive resistor. Thats it.

have you ever built this coil? if you did I bet you would start to believe there is more going on then just basic electrical engineering, you have to build this to see that there is something more to it then just a simple coil
I would love to see some replications of what Tesla had on his wall

I have, it is just as Warrensk says and that Patent says that too. If you have any evidence to the contrary please show it.

The "COIL FOR ELECTRO-MAGNETS" is a bifilar wound then series connected coil,
that is connected in series adding configuration NOT series cancelling configuration.
              FACT.

A bifilar wound then series connect coil in series cancelling configuration is
nothing more than a non inductive wire wound resistor.

I have bifilar wound series connected coils with a Q in the hundreds. resistance is less than 0.5 Ohms and inductance is 120 uH, frequency 420 kHz.
Unless I did it wrong I get Quality factor of 633.

                Hey Farmhand

That's a pretty nice coil I would like to have wound one that nice and show it's effects. Show me a video of you using the coils. Or is that one something that is no longer available? Show me. With coils that nice you should be showing it off.

If it ain't to much to ask.

Hi Bro Mikey thanks for the u-tube about a shorted toroid. I was wondering if that toroid could be made to run at a lower frequency like maybe 60hz?

                    @ASOLLID

I don't know if you have ever noticed that frequency changes can actually make the system fail as it is adjusted up and down? You mean like 50hz? Instead of 60Hz?

All you can do is try it but that is not much of a change so maybe there is a good chance for it to work.

All we can do is tune and retune for best results.

I mistakenly assumed the circuit was running in the megahz range because of the small tank coil. I will study the circuit closer.

                        Hello ASOLLID

No no it's okay keep asking. What circuit? There are so many posted. Do you mean the heater circuit? Or what?

I guess it just depends on what you want to do with a series wound coil but the purpose of this thread is to pulse these type of coils to see if we get more energy some how. Generally I have noticed with these SWBF coils you can load the secondary more and more and the input stays the same till a certain point it reached.

I have loaded some that it seemed the input would never go up, instead the primary coil draw kept dropping.

                          Warren,
I think we're on the same page. Tesla isn't speaking about cancelling inductance, but rather, cancelling self-inductance, which is the coil's CEMF, through the use of its series winding configuration.

As you say, resonance is the key to this coil's special properties.
At least, that's how I understand it.

what will happen if we cancel CEMF ? does it mean there is no restriction beside pure resistance for current flow , yet magically this coil do not burn ?
I see very important contradiction here, and is such situations it always lead to very important knowledge

I agree sir! What does it mean to cancel CEMF? Is CEMF actually cancelled, or is something else actually happening?
If we look at CEMF as coming from the dielectric, perhaps there we will find some clue about what's really happening.
Perhaps the CEMF from the oppositely wound strands is actually being concentrated between the windings. Does this mean that the dielectric's interaction with the swbifi coil is intensified between opposite windings?
                              I think so.
                              Any thoughts?

                                Just wondering what kind of inductance-change others see from their pancake coils. I recently wound a nine-inch one from speaker-wire and see the following;

individual coils unconnected measure 12 and 13uH respectively.
wired as inductive-enhance measure 105uH (8-fold increase over each individual coil)
                                wired as inductive-cancelling measure -20uH.

Yes, that's minus-20 - don't know what to make of that! I presumed at first it was down to a poor battery in my inductance meter, but that proved not to be the case. Also, whereas the DC resistance of both coils in series (where I get the minus quantity) is about 0.7 Ohms, the single 0.3 Ohm coil's inductance measurements have no minus quantity. Can someone explain?
