Cool circuit! I envy your workshop!
But I'm confused, how will Cap1 and Cap2 discharge when D4 and D6 are present?

Hob, let me do some more testing and see if they are truly discharging. One thing for sure is I am getting 3 distict pulses from the coils so I am getting a "source" from somewhere. Cap 3 is discharging. Just put this together last night so still working out the bugs.

Another thought:
when a switch turns off and the coil sends its spike to the cap,
there is some current filling the cap,
but in P-III is this current not also draining the battery?

Hi Hob, more test results. You are very right in indicating caps 1 and 2 not being able to discharge. As I was trying different methods to make this happen I ended up back to the original steup. However, I noticed this device is behaving excatly like the tesla switch. With both batts hooked up, as was illustrated in the video, BOTH began to show positive charging while pulsing the three coils when I was running this last night. You could see batt 1 influenced by the action of Q4. Very Interesting. More test to follow.

Are J1 charging? By Q4?

Very interesting indeed. I only have Batt 1 and Batt 2 hooked up. What I suspect is potential is able to flow in series through the coils. Negating Cap 1 and 2 for the moment, cap 3 charges to about 21v. Then cap 3 is pulsed into batt 2. I believe that I am seeing batt 1 increase due to a higher negative voltage exiting batt 2, just like the tesla switch.

grouping the coils and the diodes,
turning the Batt1 and Cap3 around,
and omitting a lot of other stuff,
would you say this is what You have?
(once Cap3 is charged and Q4 is about to turn on)

You, me and Skype already discussed this but I wanted to keep the group updated.

I changed it so Batt1 pulse charges Cap1 through Coil1 until Cap1 reaches 25V, then disconnects Batt1. Then Cap1 is pulsed through Coil2 until Cap2 is charged to 25V. The same cycle repeats until the last stage which pulse dumps the last cap into Batt2, or alternatively back into Batt1.

The really nice thing is that, depending on the pulse width and frequency, there is only about 50mA draw from Batt1 to charge up Cap1. This takes around 2-3 seconds initially, but decreases each cycle so the energy drawn from Batt1 is less each time - in theory. I haven't fully built and tested it yet.

I'm still ironing out some bugs with the voltage divider that senses the Cap voltages, but once that's out of the way I'll post a schematic and a video.

Hey John thanks. Vissie also made some changes and I sent the updates to both of you. Once you guy's make sure there is no more mistakes we can repost the drawing. I've started work on laying out the PCB with all of the caps. This might be a tight fit. I may want to also add 2 more sensing points accross the first and second cap banks. What do ya think?
