The only small amount of information that I can add to the subject is to check the works of the EVP (electronic voice phenomena) where plants have been used as the ideal device to tune different kinds of energies. I remember that I read somewhere that the cells from plants are the ideal energy detectors because they can detect multiple kind of energies at the same time (gravity, electrical, etc...) and some scientist wanted to use them as a detector mechanism for some kind of circuit.

Also, the father of Scientology Mr Hubbard, used a sensor to study emotional reactions from plant species and from people. There are a number of authors that affirm that emotions have their own signature and they can be read using electronic equipment.
