Exactly 50 years ago I picked up a book that told how to stop the common cold with Vitamin C. I used that many times and it does work! It does involve taking it every 4 hours although from experience I found that every 3.5 hours was better for me as the symptoms may start to come back by the time 4 hours has past. You need to do this day and night 24 hours a day for at least 7 to 10 days. They advised 750 mg per dose but I often found I needed more and sometimes used 1 to 2 grams and sometimes even more at a dosage time if I felt I needed it. If you quit before the 7 to 10 days the cold will come back full force so you want to make sure you don't miss a dose.Originally posted by Danny B View Post

Looking in the uncovered box I saw at least 30 or 40 copies of that exact same book on curing the cold with Vitamin C. I have to assume they didn't want Vitamin C slowing all their cold medicine sales so they hid the book in their attic!
