You know all those images of 'ordinary Americans' at town hall meetings who are supposedly rising up against health insurance reform? It turns out all that anger was manufactured by a conservative group trying to protect the insurance companies.

That last link seems to be a bunch of scare information to me. For example:

PG 59 lines 21-24- Govt will have direct access to your bank accounts for electronic funds transfer

If you look at the writing it discusses "enabling electronic funds transfers." This does not say a thing about doing so without an individual's permission or about mandating individuals to approve eft.

And last I heard they are not even considering a government health care option (although I think they should). Instead they are saying a non-profit will be offer health care as competition to private insurance. Anyway, so why would people even be worried about the government accessing bank accounts?

This quote is under a section titled Ensuring Value and Lowering Premiums. I believe what it is saying is that health insurance companies must offer eft as an option. Obama said one of the ways he wants to lower health insurance costs is to do more things electronically rather than pen and paper. Other industries have saved so much $ that way it is just a very logical thing to do.

Remember pharmaceutical and health insurance companies spend billions of $ to fight health care reform bc it would stop them from completely raking us over the coals. So I'm not at all surprised to see misinformation on the topic floating around.

That would be nice if that is what they would do, but I doubt it. I suspect that they will follow the course that they taken before. That is to continue to declare that alternative cures and must be banned. Because nothing can be allowed to stand in the way of their profits.

Imo it's not a matter of nice. You have to expect a business to do what is best for business.

People who continue to rely on the main stream medical system are going to die off and there will only be a few younger customers left if things keep going the way they are.

I keep hearing more and more stories of people who die waiting for insurance companies to approve the medical treatment they need. See it's less expensive for the insurance companies to wait those situations out.

Because the main stream medical system is so ineffective at treating sick people in general and now really insanely expensive as well, every day more people look for alternatives.

Health is not something people can put off very long either. Not like the squeaky cabinet door that you might get around to giving some attention one day.

That means every day that the drug and insurance companies allow things to continue as they are is another day that more and more people are pushed outside of the main stream when it comes to medical care.

I'm not saying the health insurance companies will improve to be nice. I am saying they will bc they are currently loosing too many customers, either to death or to alternative medicine.
