Basic Numerology

Traditionally, in basic numerology, 8 is the number of business, management, organization, money and abundance.

8/8/2008, technically would be 8/8/1 when reduced since 2+0+0+8=10=1+0=1

However, 8/8/1 = 8+8+1=17=1+7, which reduces to an 8.

So 8/8/2008 is absolutely an 8, which is a serious DAY OF ABUNDANCE according to traditional numerology.

I have always considered numerology to be a bit like detective work with layers and layers of clues to sort through. Given what we know of August 8, I have no doubt it will be a memorable day with danger and darkness coming from an unexpected direction . But there will also be a powerful, selfless response from the world community. On a personal level, you will probably not experience any major shake-ups as your personal cycles are about a thousand times more important than the universal cycles. Think of it this way: heavy rainstorms might be life-altering to a whole area or town, but for you, they simply determine whether you get wet or not. That is to say, this numerological forecast may not affect you personally at all. Unless your personal numerology cycles are likewise promising.

(The Olympics in Beijing starts today at 08.08.08 AM... am personally wondering if there might be some not so good things happening there)

According to Chinese numerology the number 8 is the number of prosperity. This is the reason the Chinese government opened the Olympic on 08/08/2008. Also, the bagua map used in feng shui, contains 9 positions the same as numerology world wide and is in essence part and parcel a factor of numerology for the Chinese people.
I have had Chinese clients in the past that would not buy certain homes because the address numbers were considered unlucky. In Chinese numerology some numbers are thought to be lucky and some numbers unlucky!

Interesting about the numbers. In Japan, the number 4 is considered unlucky like 13 to other places.

13 is my favorite number so I guess that makes me a triskaidekaphilia

But what is interested is that 13 is supposed to be about death, etc... and 1+3=4, the unlucky number in Japan.

In Japanese there are a few ways to say 4 depending on context. Shi is one of a few ways to say 4 and shi means death.
