Hi,

This was really interesting that the Chinese have the same set of beliefs regarding the creation. The Quran is also so similar in this respect.
The only difference in the creation of Adam, is the fact that Eve was not guilty for taking the fruit alone for deceiving Adam, but both of them were deceived equally by Satan. So woman is not guilty for deceiving man which is a common belief in many cultures.

ancient mythology

There are quite a few "stories" around the world that have the same theme of an original man and woman.

In Japan, there is the Nihongi/Nihonshoki/Shoku Nihongi that was taught in school until WWII. It was finished in 720AD and was based on much earlier writings. It is the oldest full compilation of the ancient Japanese history/mythology.

"Both the Nihongi and the Kojiki contain stories that trace the genealogy of the Japanese imperial family back to the creation of the world and to the sun goddess Amaterasu, said to be the divine ancestor of Japanese emperors. Besides linking the imperial family to divine authority, these myths also served to strengthen the authority of the Japanese ruling class."

The divine ancestor(s) in these writings are more closely to the Osiris/Isis as being like gods instead of "mankind" as Adam and Eve are.

There is one story I think in regards to the possible Lost Continent of MU in the Pacific Ocean that was way before Atlantis that had multiple sets of Adam/Eve's from different ethnic backgrounds...7 different ethnicities I think and when MU went down, they scattered to different parts of the world.

Apollonius of Tyana

There is one legendary "man" that I find very intriguing in regards to what you mention. Apollonius of Tyana the Nazarene... he was a Greek.

His life story was written at the request of Empress Julia Domna by Philostratus and it was called Life of Apollonius of Tyana.

I won't say too much, but it is very interesting. I have copies written in the early 1900's with Greek on one page and English on the next page...he was very well studied by most scholars until that time, especially at Harvard. Today, almost nobody has heard of him.

Tyanus the Nazarene

I don't think much of this "Biography". Most of what you find about it currently is from the book by Dr. R.W.Barnard. Perhaps the copy you have is different from his translation and speculations which would make it more interesting reading.

Barnard's book if full of very obvious dis-information, supposition and theories, not facts, but even the quotes he cites from ancient sources reveal nothing but the sayings of another Greek philosopher who rose to pre-eminence due to being intelligent, charismatic and a good speaker who cited what we today consider basic human needs, rights and morals.

Life of Apollonius of Tyana

The "book" I'm mentioning was written about 1800 years ago. It survived the destruction of the Library of Alexandria. It was carried out and kept secure for many years.

These books are not by a scholar that is interpreting Apollonius life based on whatever historical evidence there is, these books were written at the request of Empress Julia Domna by Philostratus and it was called Life of Apollonius of Tyana.

I understood you had a copy of the original, that's why, as I said, it might be more interesting than Barnard's book.

However, considering the backgrounds, lifestyle's, training and schools of thought these people were involved in, and considering it was written long after he died and he was not known personally by Empress Domna or Philostratus I would question it's credibility.

Therefore I stand by my statement he was just another Hellenistic philosopher they found above average. They probably embellished the story of his life to promote his and their ideals. Comment on that? I am at a disadvantage as I don't have a copy, so I'll trust your judgment.

By the way, Barnard and some of his references mentioned miracles reportedly done by Tyana the Nazarene. Anything on these in your copy and also why do you find it so interesting?
