The bald eagle is a cowardly **** eater. Any nature photographer who has stalked the bald eagle knows from field experience that the great eagle is overrated, because it flees at the smallest sound in the forest. I've flushed many eagles just by stepping on a little twig hundreds of feet away from them, but the humble Black Capped Chickadee is so courageous, that this little wild bird will fly over to investigate a noise. A wild Chickadee has so much courage that it will fly to your hand for a few seeds, its little chest pounding with palpable courage, as it studies your face and takes your seeds. Canadian Chickadees never fail to say "thanks" as they leave.
Eagles are predators of opportunity. They eat other birds, as well as rotting food, and are often found in land fill sites picking through the garbage. Chickadees are noble birds who don't eat other birds or rob nests, but subsist mostly on spiders. They're highly social, and work together in ordered communities. Chickadee's show us how to live with simple courage in caring communities. They don't screech and carry on like they are the center of the universe.
