It is true the speed of light is the ground state of the universe.Originally posted by evangilbortIf we assume, for the sake of argument,
that the speed of light is the ground state of the universe,
since it is the only reference that stays the same in all references,
departure from to less than will set a potential with the ground state.
Other true is that this constant speed (c=1) can change.

" Einstein's special theory of relativity is based on two postulates:
One is the relativity of motion, and the second is the constancy
and universality of the speed of light.
Could the first postulate be true and the other false?
If that was not possible, Einstein would not have had to make two
postulates. But I don't think many people realized until recently
that you could have a consistent theory in which you changed only
the second postulate."

my rogue babbling
I think of what we see of the universe as a transient rupture in what would otherwise be dimensionless "alley" between other "universes". Inject one causality and that creates time, which creates space, which in turn releases the energy already in the "alley". Then some energy we can,t perceive cools to become the energy we can perceive, matter of which we are made and bacon of which is delicious. It's the bacon that makes it all worth while.

Take infinite vacuum as ''dimensionless alley ''Originally posted by Hrothgar View PostI think of what we see of the universe as a transient rupture

and put there billions and billions '' other universes- galaxies ''
All '' other universes- galaxies '' have stars and planets ,Originally posted by Hrothgar View PostInject one causality and that creates time, which creates space,

every with its own gravity space and gravity time.
As astrophysicists say :Originally posted by Hrothgar View PostThen some energy we can,t perceive cools to become

there are energy and dark energy, matter and dark matter.
=.
If we cannot understand the dark energy/mass,
it is because we don't know what vacuum is.

My crystal ball is broken
I'm genuinely happy to hear your well enough travelled to have a definitive count of them.Originally posted by socratus View PostTake infinite vacuum as ''dimensionless alley ''

OK now your just bragging about witnessing every facet of creation, some of us have bills to pay and don't have time to experience infinity first hand.Originally posted by socratus View PostAll '' other universes- galaxies '' have stars and planets , every with its own gravity space and gravity time.Last edited by Hrothgar; 06-16-2013, 06:05 PM.
