  • Ron Paul's American Sovereignty Protection Act would end Birthright Citizenship and welfare benefits for illegal immigrants while securing our borders and defending American sovereignty. Such legislation is long overdue, and should be vigorously supported.

    • David Icke and Luke Rudkowski talk about what has really been going on at Occupy Wall Street. Click here to watch. To my thinking, recent police use of pepper spray on peaceful protestors who are sitting on the ground is totally unwarranted, and the sheer numbers of uniformed policemen surrounding the park is a lot more about intimidation than protection.

      • Iceland's On-going Revolution
As one European country after another fails or risks failing, imperiling the Euro, with repercussions for the entire world, the last thing the powers that be want is for Iceland to become an example. Here's why:

Contrary to what could be expected, the crisis resulted in Icelanders recovering their sovereign rights, through a process of direct participatory democracy that eventually led to a new Constitution.

The Head of State, Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, refused to ratify the law that would have made Iceland's citizens responsible for its bankers' debts, and accepted calls for a referendum.

In the March 2010 referendum, 93% voted against repayment of the debt. The IMF immediately froze its loan. But the revolution (though not televised in the United States), would not be intimidated.

But Icelanders didn't stop there: they decided to draft a new constitution that would free the country from the exaggerated power of international finance and virtual money.

Today, that country is recovering from its financial collapse in ways just the opposite of those generally considered unavoidable, as confirmed yesterday by the new head of the IMF, Christine Lagarde to Fareed Zakaria. The people of Greece have been told that the privatization of their public sector is the only solution. And those of Italy, Spain and Portugal are facing the same threat.

They should look to Iceland. Refusing to bow to foreign interests, that small country stated loud and clear that the people are sovereign.

        • Hey

Regarding iceland, not sure what that car has to do with it,but it is cool looking! Iceland's route IS the way,if only the sheeple will look up. To my mind, this is the result of Rickoffs plan/proposal for taking the electoral process; itwouldresultin a repudiation ofthe U.S.debt,or saying such debt is owedby the US corporation, not by the American people.

Regarding the pepperspraying of the protesters, I agree it LOOKS bad,and may wellhavebeen unwarranted. However, have to bear in mind didn't see what happened just before.

There are some in the occupy movement who will manipulate things, just to get such footage. For instance, before the Chicago riots, in '68, all the private vehicles of the police officers were vandalised. This was done to piss off the cops,so they would over-react, and it worked. During the Oakland occupy, when Police moved in to evict, and that vet was injured, the video's clearly show loud expolsions going off; protesters initially said the cops were using 'flashbangs'; it was LATER reported they were, in fact, M-80's being set off by the protesters.

If you are truly a 'peaceful' protester, what are you doing with M-80's, a powerful 'firecracker' with the explosive force of a 1/4 stick of dynamite? A peaceful protester, expects to be arrested, and uses passive resistance.

A manipulative one sets off M-80's when the police move in, hoping one or more of the police officers will mistake the explosions for gunfire, and will respond as trained, and you'll have a "Kent State". I remain a 'tea party' sympathiser, rather than an 'occupy' sympathiser; I agree with the complaint common to both; the inordinate 'power' of 'wallstreet' and its corrupting influence, but while I approve of the methods and goals of T.P., I am sceptical, distrustful and suspiscious of the methods, goals and outcome of the occupy. As one protester said "We have no place to go". In more ways than one, I think that sums up the occupy 'movement', to me. Jim

So the mass occupation is a bunch of homeless people? Why do I have a home and still support the movement?

Have you been to a local occupation to talk to any of the constituents about why they are there? Most of them are decent hard working Americans that are sick of their Tea Party "petitions" not being heard.

In videos showing this pepper spraying, there is nothing going on that warrants use of pepper spray. Here's one at UC Davis, where student protesters were told to leave. Instead, they peacefully and quietly sat on the ground, without threatening anyone. Two officers move in and start drenching them in pepper spray. When the students still do not leave, then officers start dragging them away. Here's one in NY, where young people have been herded into a contained area they cannot leave, and then pepper sprayed. Why go to these extremes? Why not simply issue each protester a summons, if in fact there is a good reason why they need to move (such as a fire truck, or ambulance needing to pass through in response to an emergency call) and if there is a way they can move but refuse to?

How do you know that those reports were actually factual? It is a common police tactic to send in some of their own dressed either like the other protesters, or in "anarchist" attire which may include face hiding features to prevent them from being identified. When the police want a demonstration to end, they first attempt to incite violence by the actual protesters by sending in someone to try and rile them up by making angry chants and gestures. If that fails, the next step is to shoot off some firecrackers, break some windows, throw something at the police, etc., which gives the police an excuse to move in and manhandle the protesters.

Right you are, and that's precisely why we know that anyone who used a M-80 was not one of the many peaceful protesters.

Some scenes, where police do succeed in riling crowds, look almost identical to the Egyptian protest scenes of late. About the only difference is that the Egyptian authorities are using CS gas (a potentially lethal nerve gas that is 10 times more powerful than tear gas and causes convulsion and respiratory failure) on these protesters. Twenty three Egyptian protesters have already died from it. And guess what? These CS cannisters were manufactured in the USA. That must give the Egyptian people a warm feeling towards Americans, huh? Why are we supplying tyrannical governments with CS gas when we know they intend to use it on civilians? Police in American cities will no doubt also resort to using tear gas and CS gas if the protests persist. Count on it.

Of course the lesson to be learned from all of these protests is that they are largely ineffective, and easily manipulated by the police and media. It's really too bad that a great many of the protesters don't understand this until they get sprayed or whacked with a police baton, and only then realize it was all for naught. If only they were to become quietly involved in effectively bringing about real change by working to restore our original jurisdiction government, a plan which requires action but not public protests.

The world economy is doomed to spiral downwards until we do 2 things: outlaw government borrowing; 2. outlaw fractional reserve lending. Banks should only be allowed to lend out money they actually have and nations do not have to run up a "National Debt". Remember: It's not what backs the money, it's who controls its quantity.

Yet there is a catch - one that President Kennedy recognized before he was slain - the original deal in 1913 creating the Federal Reserve Bank had a simple backout clause. The investors loaned the United States Government $1 billion. And the backout clause allows the United States to buy out the system for that $1 billion. If the Federal Reserve Bank were demolished and the Congress of the United States took control of the currency, as required in the Constitution, the National Debt would virtually end overnight, and the need for more taxes and even the income tax, itself.

                • Obama projects Pacific power
What's the real story behind Washington sending a bunch of marines to Australia?
                  By Pepe Escobar
                  Sunday November 27, 2011

Washington may not be on the verge of an Occupy Australia gambit -- but one's got to start somewhere. The start is 250 US Marines deployed as part of an Air-Ground Task Force to bases in Australia's Northern Territory, including Darwin -- which is a stone's throw from Indonesia, and thus, Southeast Asia.
US Air Force fighter jets will also be in the house, with the Marines on six-month tours starting in the summer of 2012 up to an eventual rotation of 2,500 troops.

Reality tells a completely different story; the "rules" -- imposed by the US -- assume that Washington has the right to (aggressively) police the whole planet. Beijing, for its part, is planning, long-term, how to defend its multiple national security interests in the South China Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Western Pacific.

So it starts with 250 US Marines. Just like in Uganda it starts with a few Special Forces. That's how it started in Vietnam in the early 1960s. And still the US keeps over 40,000 troops in Japan and over 28,000 in South Korea -- decades after the (war) facts. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin, in a masterpiece of understatement, said the new US move "deserves to be debated". Now this is how Beijing really sees it -- as well as dozens of countries part of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

Pentagonism, as applied to Asia-Pacific, is an extension of the Pentagon's Long War -- which has been the "soft" denomination of the Global War on Terror (GWOT) since 2001. See it as Global War Inc. And the new locations of choice are Africa (from Libya to Central Africa) and Asia-Pacific.

Obama said explicitly that if Beijing does not respect "international rules", the US "will send a clear message to them that we think that they need to be on track in terms of accepting the rules and responsibilities that come with being a world power."

An interesting feature viewed at 6:52 elapsed time in Part 2 of the above mentioned video series is a building at the U.S. Naval Complex Coronado in San Diego, California which is shaped like a swastika. I remember seeing reports about this back in 2006, and it caused quite an uproar. Dave vonKleist of The Power Hour took up the cause of exposing this when people first reported seeing the swastika in satellite imagery. You may remember Dave as the person presenting conspiracy evidence in the well done 9/11 documentary video In Plane Sight. Because of the publicity that Dave sparked regarding the Navy's swastika building, the Navy announced in 2007 that it would be spending $600,000 to make alterations to the building that would obscure the image of the swastika from view. Well, here we are now in 2011, and if you enter maps.google.com in your browser, and then enter Rio Road, Coronado, CA in the map search pane, it will take you to a 2011 Google Map image showing that the building (just to the right of the Rio Road place marker), remains unaltered. Click the "+" sign once on the zoom scale for a better hi-res view.

In a Fox News interview of Dave vonKleist done in 2007, the reporter says to Dave, "The building was built 40 years ago, the builders say it was not intentional [that it looks like a swastika], you can't even see it unless you happen to be on Google Earth, so what's the big deal?" Dave responds by saying that he, like many others who have viewed this, find it difficult to believe that no one looked at the blueprints, the architectural drawings, or artist's rendition of the building, and failed to notice the swastika. I would definitely agree with Dave on this. BTW, the current use of this building is said to be by Navy Seals.

So if they are sovereign then that makes us what? under, below, inferior, less than, not on equal footing, unless we too are sovereign, but they stole that from us, when the supreme court claimed that we are subject-citizens. "How do I know these reports are factual?" Well, if yourgoing to hold me to that standard, you can hardly get by with saying its 'common police tactic to,..." Bottom line is, based on your final paragraph, we both agree on the main elements regarding the occupy movement; The MAJORITY are well intentioned, but somewhat naive individuals who are being manipulated and used as 'cannon fodder' by those with an agenda.

I can't recall ONE arrest as a result of the Tea Parties activities, and yet, they DID succeed in DOING something. One can agree or disagree as to their goals, but they DID accomplish some of them.

What are the goals of 'occupy'? What do they hope to achieve? To focus attention on the inequity of the system, and the disproportionate 'power' (of the 'rich') which has corrupted the system? They've suceeded. To continue, without clearly stating HOW 'we' go about changing the system, is counter-productive. Over time, they will only succeed in discrediting their movement.

Most law enforcement officers are 'good citisens' (many former military), who take a job most of us wouldn't want, and who strive to 'serve and protect'. They WANT to be protecting the law abiding citisens from the crooks, not macing protesters. Most of the city governments the protesters are forcing into confrontations are liberals, for Christs sake!

In short, the occupy movement was/is ill-concieved; it HAS achieved the goal of focusing SOME of the political dialogue on inequity, but as it continues that message will be drowned out in discussions about police tactics, public safety, etc. and the original valid message will be lost in the noise.

After Enron, people went to jail. After Worldcom, etc., people went to jail (although not the Right ones!) etc.

Since the 2008 'meltdown', who has gone to jail? The FTC is in the process of making a bunch of 'plea agreement' deals with the financial firms involved, in which they pay a fine, while admitting no guilt, and NO ONE goes to jail. This is said to be SOP in these situations, and it is said the FTC doesn't have the staff/manpower to prosecute these cases. And the financial firms KNOW this. So, what incentive is their for them to change their behavior? NONE!

But are we talking about this? No, instead we're debating police tactics, and comparing whats going on here with whats going on in Syria, etc.

On this forum, we (largely you, Rickoff) ARE discussing ways to remedy the situation, or at least TRY. (And yes, Ron Paul has been a 'loan voice in the wilderness', on these issues for years!)Abolish the FED, constitutional Government, (although I have serious reservations about giving Congress authority over the currency, as they doin't have a very good track record) etc. Is the occupy movement, having gained the 'spotlight' suggesting such things? WILL they? And, will they do ANYTHING to substantially move the needle? I seriously doubt it. Jim
