so i built a little coil i may add a pic or 2 ...

it is a single wire primary and a single wire secondary i used 92.5 silver earings for the gap silver and coper on feroite

Hey men W that's a nice core it's not too large so it's easy to drive up to saturation with a small magnet.
If you take 2M of thin relay wire and you wrap it on that core and connect it to a capacitor, then hook it up to the scope you will be amazed about what is going on!!
If you have any OA95 or relative lying around you can use that to extract the LF component and now you can tune for strong frequency's by moving the magnet towards the core

One of my plans is still to add another winding so i can control the saturation by sending in a small DC voltage into the extra winding and vary the voltage to control the station

I'm back i was at the bench for a few days and now i have finished my ELF receiver and listened to the first sprites and whistlers or strokes the receiver coil shows interaction with the earth's magnetic field and it also shows horizontal polarization the best way to get to this is by wobbling.

i wobbled a coil 3 freq with 1 aa battery and 1 reed switch and a rotor the coil is a single wire ... like i said i can make kicks from a wire and a battery ... i add a reed and magnets ... now i got me damm near a fm transmitter ... chattering with 3 freqs wobble tuned !
its almost a musical instrement ..

yeh thats what i would like to do make some hv to play around with its effects!

i have some yokes from crt's aswell as the flybacks with detachable cores and plenty of mag wire and the same size/shape neo's you use in the vid

untill now i have been playing around with 11 watt cfl internals and feeding them into a small starter coil to make hv but,thats attached to the UK 240v mains and have been told that what i am doing is stupid and dangerous!

Gonna have a good play around with this though!

only way to an answer is a question ..

im not playing with fly backs right now but you could wind a jt on it where ever you can fit it and all orgonal windings are now out put

some have caps and diodes built in so be that knowen ... you can use a core from a fly back and wind a coil 2 wires 3 to 10 turns make a w with it and jt it wind a long secondary on it

that will lite a cfl

i would like to try your experiment out but firstly - on a flyback (I have a few from old crt's) should i be winding a new primary on the ferrite core?

If not,what are the usual labels for the primary of a flyback?

last night i wrote up a verry good explanation of v.o.p. it basically explainded unity and over unity .. in a un agreuable method and poof it was gone ....
