well here is the Patrick mod that takes all of your mods and puts them all together for one big charging mod. where my primary 7Ah charges 500

That is very low current for lighting CFL.

OK - Ive done some current readings for when the cap discharges.

The CFL stays lit (barely flashing) all the way down to less than 1 microamp

Im going to gut some of the small spiral lamps that laser uses, and I'll try and get my hands on some LED bulbs.

I am not sure if this is good or not. It does reduce current, but it also reduces brightness.

Test of jonnydavro capacitor xenon mod. Adding capacitor drops xenon turn on voltage from 2 KV to 1 KV.

Ive made current measurements for my flyback ringer, and its giving me the best results Ive ever had.

CFL fairly well lit on 5V and 4mA of current. 0.02W

The CFL stays lit on as little as 0.2mA - thats 0.001W of power! Its certainly given me ska fever.

Are you able to get the PSEC to work yet using only the outside ground connection?

Using collector back emf plus otput one wire can easily light up a 20 w fl lamp or non modified cfl
    20 w fl 1/4 brightness
    10 w 1/2 brightness
8 w cfl dim not modified

@Jonny - good tests there, enjoyed that. It also showed me that I had been using too great a capacitor value all day !

    Have uploaded a vid of progress and demo's: Battery Inverter - 1979 transformer + demo's - YouTube

And, did you guys know about this with these circuits ?

Could well be some coil experiments to be done.

Hi.Here is another modification to the Xee joulethief transformer which seems to work quite well.I added the lasersaber base diode and put a capasitor in parallel with the diode and in testing with a xenon bulb i found that the xenon would fire at lower input current levels and it also delays the bulb going out.
    Here is a vid.Jonny.

Haven't got anything ringing yet...not even had a phone call today
Just starting out and have something to start from. It was that simple push to go at it properly that was the needed thing, to catch up a bit
Will PM ya more info on the PSEC type experiments.

    Thanks Slider!

Have you got a circuit diagram for your PSEC build? I wondered how you had it hooked up. And have you got the one above ringing? I mean does the CFL keep flickering after the intial charge?

Here's a better video with a radio to pick up the frequency as it slows down.
