There is a difference.... One has accompanied web site that give info the other has no info other than contact. One is American made, the other isn't and could have potentially all kinds of extreme toxic chemicals, a short life span, and no warranty could also possibly be assembled under near slave labor conditions.

I mean after all the Chinese companies sell lead paint, and cadmium jewelry to our children why wouldn't they sell poisonous crap solar panels to us free energy folks.

It would be good if we all made the point this type of posting isn't appreciated.

China made 1st quality product too. Cheaper because they are willing to sacrifice their people for it (cheap labour, hostile working environment, ignoring environment health, etc). It is better to include photos and installation example.

Mat, I don't mean to burst your bubble, but if you only purchased US made products (this applies to anyone), the prices would be massively overpriced. Moreso than they are already. The other thing is that only a small fraction of Chinese manufacturers ignore consumer safety regulations. If they didn't they would be making 90% of the worlds consumer products.


P.S Aussie made stuff is better than US anyway

has the first reply "As cheap as possible" - thus they get the cheap product.

Solar cells are made from Silica. Same thing here, same thing there.
We use good Chinese cells and Good German cells on out boats; depends
on what cutomer prefer. BUT over past four years I can honestly say the
Chinese cells were better, much cheaper and after time less problems with
cracking and loss of charge ability.

I beg to differ with you Aromaz. American made products are some of the best in the world. I would rather have an American made product over one made in China any day.

Read the Chemical content of any solar company that produces solar panels in China (IF you can find the info) outside of one, SUNTEC they all use cadmium and all kinds of heavy metals. Why? they are not needed. They don't improve anything over the long term. And where does the Cadmium go after the cell is expired? Why the need to use these things at all.... Especially when they are just for export.
Some time cost is not monetary. Do your home work. We also don't have any manufacturing in this country anymore so your right the cost would be high.

Go have the cells tested!

Ya'll might want to buy that unregulated cheap poison but I don't. I try hard not to buy Chinese unless it come to magnets. And I ground mine up from time to time and had them tested before I continued to buy.
They often use lead in paint and cadmium for no reason other than to spread there toxins world wide.

Thats my view.

I read news that while R&D still america, the production gradually shifted to china. China's branch of Motorola once get the highest quality out of any production branch in the world.

You take Cadmium out of America and you loose your comfort. I am very sure you do not even have an idea how Cadmium makes your life comfortable. On the run; Cadmium is a natural occurring mineral, when finished with it -it will go back to where it came from - nature. Not the same with other minerals you most likely have in your home - at least if you fire safety conscious.

No Cadmium: Gosh, there goes the American product; lifetime shortened by as much as 30%! Do you have any idea how many items in your house contains Cadmium? Plastic, jewelry, electronic components, electrical contactors, microwave oven, TV and VCR, mobile phone, and 32% content in some batteries.
