Do it yourself alternative energy
Hi, above is the thread outlining my circuit during development. The VOC; open circuit voltage from the PMA; is what you have to design for. I used two 555 timers to control the duty cycle of the buck converters. The buck converters are four 5 amp DC to DC step down converters circuits connected in parallel. I found that the duty cycle must be below 50% to work with a PMA.
I never added the micro controller, but because the Skinner will be a constant RPM my circuit should be a good match.
I also have a intronic mppt controller with custom software that will work with a PMA.
Two USA manufacturers that offer a MPPT controller that will work with a PMA are MorningStar and Midnite Solar.
Another open source controller that i found was from Zlog, if I can find the link I will post it.
The CONSTANTINESCO looks interesting but one project at a time. Thanks for sharing.

Are you planning to use commercially available MPPT, and if so, which one? Also, would you know of any open-sourced circuits available for this? I have been experimenting with running a small DC motor from the rectified outputs of a 4-wire stepper motor and was surprised to find that when connected directly, it will not budge it, even when spun with an electric drill! I have a few DC-DC converters on order so I can explore this further.Originally posted by Burnit0017 View PostHi, the multi stator PMA was created to reduce the Lenz effect. It also shows how reducing the stator resistance improves output performance when charging batteries. The MPPT circuit does the same thing at a reduced cost. Thanks for the suggestion. Currently fabricating gearbox, should have more to show in a few days.
Have you ever given any thought to a mechanical form of load-alleviation? Constantinesco has always intrigued me.

flywheel
Hi Burn, Nice,.. hook that to a big flywheel , the magnetic pulse should aid in rotation.
Very nice.

Hi, thanks for the info. I have completed fabrication of all the parts. Starting to fabricate the frame. I will use it to drive a PMA. I will post results when available.

Skinner Gravity Power Machine
Since there is still some interest in the Skinner machine, I do want to mention something that may be helpful for builders to understand and it only happens with elliptical motion.
With elliptical motion, the weight on the lower shaft is LOWER at the edges of the ellipse and HIGHER when it comes to the middle so there actually is a change in the height of the weight.

Hi , nice pdf. Check towards the end to see what I am fabricating. The only difference is I am adding a gearbox and a MPPT circuit.Last edited by Burnit0017; 10-04-2014, 02:08 AM.

Hi, completed the main parts. I still have to fabricate the bearing shaft coupler, tilt plate and crank arm.

Hi, thanks for the info. I plan to start with the demo in the video with a output drive shaft. PMA at the bottom, next a gear box and so on working my way up. It maybe a week or two before I have something show. Thanks again. Cheers.

Hi Burn, The Skinner device is tricky, it's on the back burner for now for me.
Best to build all 4 at the same time.
Drive axles out of front wheel drive ,will require a big machine.
Thats where I'm at. Better to start small until we figure out the translation plate or design it properly.
It needs to have rotational and pivoting action at both connections of the upper and lower points.
The upper connection at the plate has to be able to travel , circular, and up and down.
When time permits I'll get back to it.
There are probably easier ways. I like the mag track thing.

Greetings, I have some enough spare parts from other projects to start a build. I look forward to your results. Cheers
