i have a bi-filar coil, basically a spool wound with equal lengths of 24SWG & 26SWG until the spool is full....even though the two wires are of different...

today at work i came across two, 240V CFL ballast's.... there were two inside each holding for one cfl tube. they are very heavy, about 7-8 inches long, 1 & 1.2 inches square, 4...

your two-turn result makes some sense in that.....less turns generally is less voltage = more current.

I will put a resistive load on the one toroid with scope across it....and then short the other toroid..and see if theres an increase on the scope. :thumbsup:

and yes, you will need 3 or more...

the second bulb doesnt light up because the diode is stopping current flow that is trying to come from the positive of the battery ( conventional current flow i mean )
