Exclamation Capacitor can also pick up the magnetic field

I just found this video:
(the title of this thread is the translated caption of the video)

YouTube - ‪capacitor as a receiver of magnetic field's energy :-)‬‏

It seems like the capacitor is getting charged by the magnetic field in the toroid?

Capacitor is acting as a secondary in a transformer

The capacitor is being cut by the flux as it engages/disengages from the toroid, and is acting as a secondary in a transformer. The input is 18V 500mA square wave. Could this be a more efficient way to utilize a capacitor? I don't know.

I took a snapshot of the video and changed the brightness and contrast to show how the primary is wrapped around the toroid. I'm sure you know this, but there was a comment on youtube from someone who didn't realize there was an input, thus the posting of the pic.

I wonder what would happen if the primary covered all of the toroid?
Would there be a change in output and/or input?

In youtube you can find some tests that usually are very unknown, but they seem to be apparently easy to replicate. The author of these videos has some very interesting tests that he has shown on his channel.

He also has posted a video where he uses a transformer in a different way. The primary is a single-wire energy transmission cable and the secondary is a classic 2-wire configuration.

I cannot play the video due to my pc, but... can someone post here the specifications of the capacitor? I think they're called axial caps, but I want to know about the voltage and capacitance.
Also... the primary coil is a single wire energy transmission or the classic 2-wire config?

Details about the cap

I found the video downloaded in my pc, here there are the cap details

1400 VDC - 525 VAC
2.5 MFD +/- 10%

Which video is that?

@hob
I have a very slow internet connection, but look in the channel. It has like a tesla's coil and he shows clearly one wire going to the primary and then 2 wires in the secondary. He is lighting a small light bulb in the second.

very interesting stuff!
reminded me of this video I saw a few months back from lasersaber

YouTube - ‪Working A-F-P "Dr Lirpa Sloof" technology exposed!‬‏

I was just given most of an old comp that has a few toroid coils in it I can salvage, might take one out and see what I can do with it, just to have something to mess around with.
thanks for sharing, pretty interesting idea!

Lasersabers Dr Lirpa Sloof.
Spell it backwards -April Fools- and watch the Date from the Video.
I dont think you really wanna rebuild that.

It seems that he has put a very little capacitor to pick up the magnetic field and to allow the energy to flow to the bulb (it's difficult to see if there is a cap, but I think that there is a small one). I think I have seen this before in other video some years ago in youtube. A guy put inside an inductor, a small capacitor and then he lighted a bulb. The only difference is that the other guy didn't use a toroid (he used an inductor) and it wasn't like a transformer, it was a simply inductor.

But in this case, (in the link that wings has posted) in the primary he uses a classic 2-wire configuration.

Yeah, after I posted the link I went back to watch the video again. I read through the comments this time and caught that
pretty good gag and I fell for it, but he really did a good job selling it

that's what I get for not doing my homework before posting, thanks for pointing that out
